The Role

Account manager responsibilities include developing long-term relationships with a portfolio of clients, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders. Account Managers liaise between customers and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs. Manage and develop client accounts to initiate and maintain favorable relationships with clients. AmTrust Senior Account Managers are the face of AmTrust to our clients. They are sales professionals who performs a variety of duties aimed at managing AmTrust's client relationships, as well as developing new business from these existing accounts. The Account Manager manages all aspects of the business-to-business relationship; deepening and strengthening these relationships are the keys to maintaining our client's loyalty.

The Account Managers primary goal is to service their block of clients, responding to all of their account needs, and to grow each organically through product enhancements and new sales channels. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Primary contact person to coordinate all the needs of the client and AmTrust to facilitate the growth of the client's business. This includes working with and knowledge in Legal, Compliance, Reinsurance, Underwriting, Finance, and IT.
  • Responsible for implementation/onboarding of all new clients.
    • This includes, negotiating legal agreements, obtaining internal and external approvals of client's Terms and Conditions, coordinating needed filings and CLIPs with Compliance, obtaining needed licenses from clients, Due Diligence reviews, negotiating rates and maintaining documented rate cards, data mapping and IT implementations, etc. as well as documenting all of these processes in SalesForce.
  • Identify and create business opportunities to enhance company performance and meet yearly budget goals.
  • Maintain weekly/bi-weekly meetings with clients to keep abreast of all needs
  • Push internal support partners to complete needed work product for timely delivery to client.
  • Monitor client's business for trends in performance.
  • Conduct annual/semi-annual Experience review meeting with client
  • Responsible for all program related operational projects
  • Attend all Program related meetings and conferences
  • Travel at approximately 25%

Account Managers should be familiar with a variety insurance structures - Reinsurance, XOL, FTP, FD, etc., and be able to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. To be successful, you must be able to multitask, easily switching from one project to the next and lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and self-motivation is expected. Reports to Assistant Vice President of Account Management. Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in account management, project management, and/or insurance.
