So we are working on training and scaling up multimodal foundation models for systems that can see and understand, show and explain, and eventually interact with our world to effect change.
This is a rare opportunity to join a foundational team and help shape Luma’s global revenue operations as we launch multimodal models like Dream Machine and grow our visual intelligence ecosystem. You’ll manage revenue accounting for subscription plans and AI agents, ensuring compliance with ASC 606, especially for software subscriptions, transaction fees, and unique customer contracts. As the Senior Revenue Accountant you have strong technical skills and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic AI environment. You’ll partner closely with Sales, Legal, Product, and Engineering to handle complex deals and build robust financial systems and processes. The position reports to ?
- Support monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue close processes by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, analyzing variances, and creating disclosures
- Review revenue contracts to identify terms that could influence revenue recognition under ASC 606
- Prepare and update schedules and workpapers related to revenue accounts while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Work with team leads to introduce new procedures for product launches, pricing updates, or sales programs affecting revenue recognition
- Carry out billing, revenue accruals, and other revenue operations tasks within the broader order-to-cash cycle
- Reconcile data between billing systems and the ERP, highlight inconsistencies, support investigations, and assist with future ERP implementation.
- Collaborate with departments such as Sales, Legal, and Product to provide operational support for new deals and ensure all revenue impacts are well-documented
- Support internal controls by performing SOX tasks and making sure all supporting documents are complete and audit-ready.
- Prepare documentation and schedules required to respond to audit requests related to revenue accounting
- Engage in ongoing system and process enhancements, including testing, documentation, and providing feedback on automation efforts
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, with a strong understanding of ASC 606 at a high growth technology company
- Experience with complex revenue contracts, including usage-based billing, subscriptions, and multi-element arrangements
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various levels of the organization
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- A passion for Revenue Recognition and Accounting Operations as we scale from the ground up
- CPA designation
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and revenue recognition automation tools
- Experience with revenue operations and process improvement initiatives
The base pay range for this role is $140,000 – $180,000 per year.
