Octane is unlocking the power of financial products for merchants and consumers. Our cutting-edge technology and innovative financial products empower businesses with more control and flexibility, enabling them to deliver seamless digital experiences, drive customer loyalty, and build long-term value.

Octane supports merchants throughout the sales cycle: connecting dealerships with high-intent buyers, driving transparent, fast, and easy closings with award-winning technology, and providing on-going customer care with superior loan servicing.

Founded in 2014, Octane supports over 60 OEM partner brands and over 4,000 dealer partners, and has a team of over 600. Visit www.octane.co.

As Product Manager, Captive Recreation Partnerships, you will shape the product experience for Octane's captive recreational lending channel—from consumer- and dealer-facing applications and offers flows to the decisioning, contract, and F&I product infrastructure that powers every deal. You'll work hand-in-hand with external partners to build integrations that are reliable, compliant, and built to convert, while optimizing the consumer experience that borrowers encounter through those partnerships. This role is also an opportunity to help guide how Octane's product team adopts AI-assisted processes, and we're looking for someone who brings that curiosity and fluency with them.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead team OKRs that align with corporate objectives, translating a long-term vision into actionable, prioritized roadmaps.
  • Rigorously measure and report on key KPIs, specifically focusing on dealer conversion rates, application volume, and funding velocity.
  • Manage and advance deep integrations with dealer systems to ensure a frictionless, end-to-end loan origination flow.
  • Partner with Legal, Risk, and Credit Ops to navigate complex product eligibility logic, disclosures, and compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Sales, and Ops to build world-class experiences for Octane’s captive partners.
  • Gather direct insights from dealer stakeholders and internal teams through empathy interviews and support channels to drive continuous UX improvements.
  • Simultaneously oversee multiple in-flight projects, balancing external partner dependencies and legal timelines with internal engineering capacity.
  • Continuously optimize the dealer portal and consumer application flows to reduce friction and increase partner satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of product management experience with a track record of delivering high-quality products and great user experiences at scale.
  • Ability to envision how complex systems and platforms interact to serve multiple user groups (consumers, dealers, and partners).
  • Proven track record of partnering with engineers to weigh technical tradeoffs, not just passing along requirements.
  • Expert at navigating difficult tradeoffs and optimizing a portfolio of small, medium, and large releases.
  • Skilled at conducting empathy interviews to internalize user workflows and deeply understand customer needs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing external partner relationships and building reliable, high-converting integrations.
  • Interest in or experience with AI-augmented product development, such as context-driven spec generation and AI-assisted ticketing.
  • Strong written and verbal skills with a talent for articulating complex problems with precision.
  • A creative thinker who thrives when collaborating across Engineering, Design, Analytics, Marketing, and Sales.
  • Experience in FinTech, lending, automotive/powersports, or dealership operations is highly preferred.

Compensation: In addition to salary, Total Rewards include bonus eligibility, a stock option package, and benefits as outlined below. The role described above offers a base salary of $105,000 to $145,000 + corporate bonus eligibility. Your offer will be based on location, the alignment of your qualifications with the requirements of the job and internal equity

Benefits:

  • Robust Health Care Plans (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Generous Parental Leave
  • Flexible Time Off (FTO) Policy - Time Off When You Need It
  • Retirement Plan (401k) with company match!
  • Educational Assistance/Tuition Reimbursement up to $3K/year
  • Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)
  • Short Term / Long Term Disability
  • Robust Ancillary benefits including accident insurance, hospital insurance, etc
  • Wellhub (Gympass) Wellness Benefit
  • Recreational Safety Benefit
