The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Analyst to join our Privacy and Data Governance Team. While some risks can be addressed through process updates, others require engineering implementation. The role will collaborate with other engineering teams, such as data analytics and security to develop and implement Privacy engineering solutions.
Your responsibilities will include setting technical direction, formulating strategies and plans, developing comprehensive technical documentation, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and implementing scalable and safe solutions to Datadog's privacy needs. Your efforts will ensure that our guidance, tools, and practices lead to concrete improvements in data privacy management and accountability within our privacy program. This position offers a chance to make a significant impact, from building internal services used company-wide, to refining how Datadog engineers utilize data and tools in their daily tasks.
You Will

  • Work in a fast, high-growth environment that respects its engineers and customers
  • Design and implement privacy by design architecture to solve problems at high scale
  • Identify privacy risks and translate to scalable, pragmatic controls for data collection, storage, access, usage, and deletion in both data warehouse environments and operational data systems
  • Recommend and demystify the benefits of various Privacy Enhancing Technologies


Who are you

  • 4+ years of experience in engineering
  • You're passionate about privacy and data protection
  • You have experience with Agile methodologies and product development frameworks
  • You have a BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience
  • You want to work in a fast, high growth environment
  • You have prior experience in software development, working with large-scale distributed systems, or data engineering technologies


Bonus Points

  • You've worked at high scale with systems like Redis, Cassandra, Kafka
  • You wrote your own data pipelines once or twice before
  • You have a strong background in statistics
  • You have significant experience with Go, C, or Python

$153,000 - $207,000 USD
