ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Principal Software Architect specializing in real-time trading systems and the entire trading systems lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of trading technologies, significant experience in architecting high-performance, low-latency trading solutions, and a passion for innovation. As a Lead Architect, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of our trading platform, ensuring it meets the highest standards of performance, reliability, and scalability. You will be a high-profile member of the team, interacting with business stakeholders, clients, and regulators. You will work extremely closely with the engineering teams, to create collaborative technology designs, and to insure there are consistent best practices for design and growth as fundamental tenets of the engineering process.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Architectural Leadership: Lead the design and development of our trading solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices
- Scalability and Performance: Help design systems with a focus on high performance and high scalability to support rapid growth and expansion
- Technology Strategy: Help define and drive the technology strategy for the trading platform, including the selection of appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, QA, operations, and business stakeholders, to ensure successful delivery of trading solutions
- Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest technological advancements in the trading space and incorporate new approaches and technologies where appropriate
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence
- Compliance: Ensure that all architectural designs adhere to relevant regulatory requirements, security standards, and trading compliance protocols
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent prior experience)
- 10+ years of experience in software development and architecture, with at least 5 years specializing in real-time trading systems.
- Extensive experience with low-latency, high-frequency trading systems
- Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Proven track record of leading and mentoring engineering teams
- Relevant certifications in architecture, cloud technologies, or trading systems are a plus
- Prior experience in a financial services (with a focus on regulatory requirements and compliance ) or fintech environment preferred
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization techniques
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with trading platforms, order management systems, and financial markets preferred

Salary Range
$197,400-$246,750
The annual base salary range for this position is noted above. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and office location.
