As an SAE, you will serve as a key client contact, ensuring seamless communication and strategic execution across multiple accounts. You will be deeply immersed in every aspect of your accounts—tracking developments, anticipating needs, and driving results that align with client objectives. With a strong grasp of the evolving media landscape, you will build and maintain relationships with journalists, pitch compelling stories, and secure high-value coverage. Most importantly, you will be an integral part of contributing to our culture of “nice, smart people who work hard.”

If you are a proactive, media-savvy communicator who thrives in an entrepreneurial setting, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Serve as the primary client contact, managing key accounts and workstreams while providing expert counsel with team support
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering strategic guidance and proactive solutions
  • Stay informed on industry sectors relevant to client work, providing insights and strategic recommendations
  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with journalists, editors, and media professionals across print, broadcast, and digital platforms
  • Identify media opportunities, craft compelling pitches, and secure high-value coverage
  • Plan and execute media engagements, including interviews, press events, roundtables, and product or company announcements
  • Create a variety of written materials, including press releases, media pitches, media plans, op-ed, fact sheets, and media audits
  • Develop social media copy tied to company announcements, thought leadership, and industry trends
  • Manage PR campaign timelines, deliverables, and milestones, ensuring projects stay on track and within scope
  • Track and analyze campaign performance, leveraging coverage trackers, analytics tools, and key metrics to measure success
  • Support the new business process through research, campaign ideation, and proposal development
  • Contribute to Grayling’s growth by driving initiatives that align with your expertise and interests
  • Bolster Grayling’s positive and collaborative culture

Desired qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in public relations agency or similar position
  • An undergraduate degree in Communication, PR or journalism
  • Proven success managing accounts, especially those with global teams
  • Ability to juggle deadlines in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple clients and other responsibilities
  • A solid understanding of the evolving media landscape (trade, top-tier, digital, broadcast, etc.)
  • Fluency with MuckRack, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Curious about emerging industry trends and translating those findings into actionable insights for teams and clients
  • Interest in mentoring junior team members
  • Based on the East Coast and happy working remotely most of the time (if not based in NY)
