Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team in defining and executing a scalable technical roadmap, focusing on foundational platform components essential for future growth.
  • Drive architectural initiatives that enhance system robustness, reliability, and flexibility, enabling seamless scaling to meet business demands.
  • Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence, feedback, and continuous growth.
  • Own the team’s hiring and development processes, ensuring recruitment of top engineering talent while maintaining high team cohesion and productivity.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for operational and technical issues, leading troubleshooting efforts and minimizing disruptions.
  • Develop and implement efficient processes for planning, tracking, and delivery to ensure reliable and consistent project execution.
  • Direct the team’s roadmap autonomously, identifying the strategic path to reach our ambitious scaling goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams in platform or infrastructure roles, ideally with 3-7 direct reports.
  • Strong technical expertise in backend engineering, with a focus on scalable systems (experience in Node.js and AWS preferred).
  • Background as a Staff+ engineer or equivalent technical leadership experience.
  • Experience balancing technical project delivery with long-term strategic vision and a keen understanding of business implications.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to align team priorities across departments and navigate competing priorities.
