DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Serve as project leader in the execution of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and capital raising assignments involving Latin American companies, working closely with clients and leveraging on other resources in the firm and outside advisors. Assume a significant role in marketing and presenting transaction opportunities to clients. Develop long-term client relationships, contribute to the group's origination effort in partnership with other coverage groups globally, and anticipate new business opportunities. Serve as primary contact person for clients to provide sector and country specific expertise in the context of M&A and capital raising transactions. Analyze and provide value-added input to the firms' clients, including recommendations for optimal deal financial structure and negotiating strategy for clients and determine the impact of such projects or deals on clients and anticipate reactions of capital markets. Produce high quality deliverables, including: building and applying complex financial and valuation models, performing capital structure analysis, articulating industry and macroeconomic trends in Latin America, and providing critical advice to clients both in the region and globally with interest in Latin America. Assist clients in executing M&A and/or capital raising transactions, being responsible for the day- to-day evolution of the transactions, interacting with the client, counterparties, external advisors, among others. Assist clients in performing due diligence by anticipating their needs and serve as primary point of contact with the counterparty being able to provide insights on counterparty's strategy. This position requires up to 50% travel (domestic and international).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field of study plus 6 years of experience in the job offered or as Origination/Client Manager, Investment Banking Vice President/Associate, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field of study plus 9 years of experience in the job offered or as Origination/Client Manager, Investment Banking Vice President/Associate, or related occupation.
Skills Required: Requires 6 years of experience with: participating in Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Raising transactions; analysis of Mergers & Acquisitions industry trends in Latin America; financial market dynamics in Latin America; adjustments to discount rate adjustments; advising clients with Mergers & Acquisitions and capital raise strategies; valuation techniques including DCF, multiples, and LBO; drafting marketing materials and memoranda for Mergers & Acquisitions and capital raising transactions; coordinating and executing due diligence processes; advising clients on Mergers & Acquisitions structuring considerations; developing client relationships; negotiating transaction documents; and origination efforts for new business opportunities. Requires 3 years of experience with: financial reporting and financial statement analysis in Latin America; inflation accounting; and Microsoft Tools, Bloomberg and Factset. This position requires up to 50% travel (domestic and international).
