Job Summary:

Night editorial/Social producer, prospects and Minor Leagues We are looking for a night editorial/social producer for MLB Pipeline – MLB.com’s vertical dedicated to coverage of prospects and Minor League Baseball – and MiLB.com. MLB Pipeline producers are responsible for writing, editing and producing prospect, Draft and Minor League content for MLB.com, MiLB.com, the 30 MLB club sites and all Pipeline and MiLB social media channels. They will work closely with homepage editors and other editorial/social producers to ensure that the sites provide users with the most relevant, informative and interesting content possible. This job is part-time and seasonal, and can be fully remote.

Responsibilities
● Edit and post content for use on MLB.com, MiLB.com, team and partner websites
● Use social media to promote content
● Request video highlights and provide metadata for the clips
● Update the sites quickly and accurately
● Write interesting headlines, captions, blurbs
● Manage and update MLB Pipeline’s comprehensive ranking of the top prospects in each MLB organization
● Write prospect- and Minor League-focused articles for MLB.com and MiLB.com
● Collaborate with multimedia department to ensure appropriate and relevant video is being used with each story
● Select and crop photos to pair with stories, prospect lists and other packages
● Make judgments on story significance and arrange content into lead packages on the sites
● Communicate with the rest of the team to ensure that all content is accurately placed on the various sites

Qualifications
● Ability to write and produce compelling, concise content on deadline
● Thorough knowledge of baseball -- specifically about prospects and the Minor Leagues
● Position will require work at night and on weekends
● Experience with content management systems and web publishing
● Strong copy-editing skills
● Knowledge of social media and SEO
● Basic HTML and Photoshop skills
● Ability to work well under deadline and in fast-paced situations with multiple responsibilities
● Strong communication, presentation and organization skills
● Must be able and willing to work as part of a team, and receptive to feedback
● Facility with written Spanish is not required but beneficial

Pay Rate: $22 per hour 

The actual offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
