About The Position
InStyle is seeking an experienced digital news director to help drive celebrity, style, beauty, and entertainment coverage for InStyle.com. The news director will lead a team of editors and writers responsible for covering breaking and trending stories online, and should be skilled in coming up with unique and strategic takes on the news that will help to engage and grow the InStyle audience. They should be comfortable jumping in to write when needed and leading a team during off-hours for red carpet events and awards show coverage.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure. Sound news judgment, excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, and a deep knowledge of celebrity and pop culture are also essential to the role.
The news director should be comfortable wearing many hats — whether tweaking headlines, devising content plans, or digesting data to inform story angles — and will work alongside the deputy editor to develop InStyle’s coverage and
overall online experience.
