Dotdash Meredith is seeking a Manager of YouTube Optimization to join its growing Video Strategy team. Reporting to the Director of YouTube Optimization, the Manager will be responsible for crafting innovative thumbnail designs, expertly workshopping titles and managing several YouTube channels across a variety of genres.

In-Office Expectations - Hybrid 3x a week (NYC or LA)

Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Optimize and publish content (Videos & Shorts), with strong focus on thumbnails, titles, descriptions, tags, community management, etc.

  • Day to day management of multiple YouTube channels across a variety of brands including PEOPLE, Entertainment Weekly, InStyle and Allrecipes.

  • Reoptimize a vast library of content utilizing YT real-time data and internally built tools.

  • Increase community interaction on the channels.

  • Work closely with teammates in Development on the optimization and rollout of newly piloted series.

  • Build series templates for new and existing shows.

  • Manage Content ID.

Must-haves

  • 5+ years of experience in managing multiple YouTube channels in the Media & Entertainment space or Multi-Channel Network. 

  • Stellar Photoshop skills.

  • Nimbleness is critical as we invest, grow and evolve – thrives in an environment where both collaborative and independent work is necessary.

  • Exceptional understanding of, and experience in everything that goes into creating and publishing highly successful YouTube videos for digital publications, that reach massive audiences.

  • A comprehensive nuts-to-bolts understanding of the YT algorithm and the critical nature of titles and thumbnails.

  • Fundamental understanding of the relationship between organic viewership and monetization.

  • A working knowledge of YouTube and social video trends and popular digital publishers.

  • Incredibly strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Ideal candidate is curious about pushing the boundaries of broadly established video ‘best practices’, and is eager to experiment.

  • Foundational knowledge of YT Analytics, Tubular and Airtable.
