Girls Who Code is a non-profit organization working to close the gender gap in technology. Through our Workforce Programs, we are providing college-aged students and early career professionals with the skills to explore and pursue careers in technical roles. Girls Who Code is searching for a Manager of Workforce Programs to manage program implementation, in collaboration with the Workforce Programs team, of all Workforce Programs, including Hiring Summits, Leadership Academy, Work Prep, Technical Interview Prep and new pilots of programs as they arise. 


The Manager, Workforce Programs will work closely with our Director, Workforce Programs to implement strategies and processes to improve program planning, implementation, and participant experience across all workforce programs. This work will include assisting with program design, logistics and event management; creating structures for when programs are running supporting onboarding seasonal staff; and the possibility of supervising part-time seasonal staff, as needed. Additionally, the Manager of Workforce Programs will manage some areas of cross functional work with other teams across Girls Who Code.


The ideal candidate has at least four (4) years of demonstrated experience working on workforce or professional development programs, student-facing initiatives, developing new processes/systems, or supporting large virtual events or programs, with a preference for work in higher education, career services, recruitment, or job readiness programs. They bring experience working with diverse populations and a passion for connecting students and young professionals with high quality, free, meaningful professional development opportunities. They thrive in a fast-paced innovative environment and can balance multiple projects while prioritizing attention to detail and stakeholder support. 


This is a full-time, New York City-based position, to start as soon as possible.


Candidates must meet the requirement of our hybrid remote work policy, which requires 2 in-office days per week. This is not a virtual/fully remote position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Director of Workforce Programs on program design across all Workforce programs and any new pilot initiatives.
  • Track progress of programs to maintain timelines, ensure deadlines are met, and inform key stakeholders of milestones, concerns, or decision-points.
  • Manage the entire participant experience across workforce programs, which includes creating participant engagement plans and creating participant toolkits, program or platform guidance, and additional programmatic documentation.
  • Collaborate with other Managers on the Workforce Team to identify learnings across the programs to propose programmatic pivots, systems changes, and other program changes.
  • Manage the updates and innovations to platforms utilized across all programs (examples may include vFairs and Forage).
  • Research tools, trends, and cross-team collaboration opportunities to improve team processes and systems. 
  • Manage the relationship and cross-team collaboration with the Program Operations team to ensure successful implementation of programs and participant enrollment (applications, registrations, selection, participation tracking, and stipend processes).
  • Become team’s subject matter expert and liaison for Salesforce, Alchemer, Forage, and other tools as needed. Collaborate with the Program Operations team to understand changes in process or systems as needed. 
  • Manage the onboarding materials related to participant resources, tracking systems, platform usage. Collaborate with the Manager of Content and Instructional Design to build onboarding plans and documentation. Lead onboarding sessions in collaboration with Manager of Content and Instructional Design. 
  • Potentially manage part-time staff (as needed) which may include a Technical Interview Prep Specialist or summer interns. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years prior experience in higher education, job-readiness, recruitment, or workforce programs
  • Alignment with Girls Who Code’s mission and the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Demonstrated experience working on multiple projects simultaneously and balancing competing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, especially written and verbal
  • Highly organized with an orientation towards finding solutions to decrease manual tasks or processes. 
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and innovative environment; comfortable working effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines and goals
  • Comfort in learning and building trainings and documentation for multiple platforms
  • Data-driven: the ability to track outcomes through set goals
  • Desire to learn and grow; team player with a flexible, creative, and analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Experience with management or assisting in virtual programs or large scale events
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, Alchemer, Slack, Asana, or Yesware (preferred)
  • Knowledge of and/or interest in computer science, technology, and/or education (preferred)
