Manager, People Operations

As Skillshare’s Manager, People Operations you will oversee all aspects of People Operations, including Culture, Performance management, Employee experience, Talent and Operations.

You will play a key role executing and managing all aspects of the People Operations experience for our small, talented global team- from hiring and onboarding and beyond. This individual will play an active and visible role in the company, and will regularly interact with our VP, Finance. Senior leadership team and CEO to support an incredible experience for our people. We are seeking a candidate in the greater NYC areq within the US who can work EST hours.

What you will do:

• Culture and Engagement: Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and inclusivity within our fully distributed and remote company. Organize team-building events and activities to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction including monthly team engagement events, annual company retreat and cultural celebration events 
• Performance Management: Execute and oversee existing performance management processes, including quarterly check-ins, and pulse surveys. We have a strong performance foundation in place and this role will own and execute these processes and practices.
• Operations: Manage all aspects of People Operations including managing our People tech stack (eg. Lever, Rippling) to ensure highest levels of data accuracy and integrity. Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations. Develop and oversee employee policies.
• Employee Relations: Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, addressing and resolving people related issues, conflicts or concerns. Partner with advisors on complex scenarios or matters requiring escalation.
• Recruitment and Talent Acquisition: Develop and execute recruitment efforts in partnership with hiring managers and our leadership team to attract talent for Skillshare. Alongside the HR Process Specialist, manage the full recruitment lifecycle including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
• Compensation and Benefits: Administer pay and benefits programs, including salary reviews, benefits enrollments, leave of absence administration, perks programs and other rewards that support high performance and employee wellness.
• Oversee the People Ops function for Skillshare, including managing one direct report

You are comfortable communicating at all levels of the organization whether presenting to the company, drafting internal communications for the People team or working behind the scenes with employees on sensitive issues.
