Internship Program Overview

BrainPOP’s Summer 2024 Internship Program is an excellent opportunity for college students to learn about the EdTech space from an industry leader and brand beloved by teachers and students. BrainPOP’s interns will participate in business relevant projects, collaborate with teams and leaders in the organization, and take part in our unique culture.

We are a hybrid workplace, and interns will work in the BrainPOP NYC office on Wednesdays during the course of the internship. Each Wednesday we’ll provide lunch, opportunities to interact onsite with teams, and host special programming and events throughout the experience.

  • Paid Internships for college students
  • 8 weeks:  June 10, 2024 to August 2, 2024
  • 35 hours per week: Monday through Friday from 9:30 am - 5pm (30 minutes lunch).
  • Hybrid schedule: Wednesdays in-person at the BrainPOP Office in NYC, with the option to work remotely on other days
  • Lunch provided every Wednesday in the BrainPOP Office
  • Special events and learning oriented programming

About The Role

BrainPOP’s Learning, Performance and Engagement (LPE) Team is one functional sub-team on our People Operations Team. We oversee all things related to Employee Performance, Learning, and Engagement, to include goal setting, performance cycles, training and culture and community events. We partner with leadership across the organization to help build a high performance culture.

The Learning & Performance Intern will  report to the Learning and Performance Associate. In this role, there will be two major projects that they will work on. along with participating in other LPE Team initiatives.

The LPE Intern will collaborate with the team  to conduct in-depth research on best practices for how we connect all of our employees who are distributed across the company (hybrid working model). This research will include looking at current internal analytics, talking with employees, and researching other company practices to conclude in making a recommendation for the team. For this project you would collaborate with different members of our People Operations Team as well as get to speak with other employees across other departments.

The Learning and Performance Intern will contribute to the planning and execution of employee engagement initiatives, promoting a positive workplace culture. They will coordinate at least one of our monthly employee recognition events (Lunch of the Month), and cotrirbute to the planning team to help execute BrainPOPs Global Day of Service.

  • Support an ongoing research project on how to boost employee engagement and hybrid connectivity
  • Utilize this research to brainstorm specific ways that BrainPOP can improve our engagement programming
  • Assist in the planning and execution of employee engagement initiatives, gaining hands-on experience in event coordination and logistics
  • Gain exposure into project management tools and techniques
  • Gain insight into the EdTech industry and skills for working at a fast paced company

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree; rising sophomore, junior or senior
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills for summarizing research outcomes and presenting findings
  • Familiar with Google Suite including Google Slides (creating and presenting a slideshow), Google Calendar (scheduling and inviting participants)
  • Comfortable speaking in front of both large and small groups (or actively invested in practicing and building this skill).
  • Enjoys engaging with people, asking questions, and practicing active listening.
  • Comfortable asking questions, proactively sharing your opinion, and willing to gain insight from others

Location

The BrainPOP team operates in a hybrid work environment: Each role has remote flexibility and an in-person component at our New York headquarters or other meeting locations. Based on the requirements of a specific role, we may prioritize hiring within a commutable distance of our New York headquarters or in another region relevant to that role.

We have competitive pay bands for all other countries based on market standards. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skill set, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. Based on these factors, we expect most of the candidates offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description, as posted. If so, the updated salary range will be communicated to you as a candidate.
