Who You Are:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Software Engineering to join and lead our team that supports our staking services. This individual will play a pivotal role in designing and building scalable, well-abstracted, and robust APIs, libraries, and services to integrate blockchains and staking functionality into our custody platforms. The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer with deep expertise in Java, SQL, databases, Kubernetes (k8s), Docker, and has a strong understanding of cryptocurrency technologies.
What You’ll Do:
- Experience with Staking and Custody in Blockchain technologies.
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, well-abstracted, and robust APIs, libraries, and services.
- Integrate blockchain and staking functionality into our custody platforms.
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of skilled software engineers.
- Ensure high-quality code through best practices, code reviews, and automated testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits.
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on Java development.
- Extensive experience with SQL and database management.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (k8s) and Docker for containerization.
- Strong understanding of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency, including staking mechanisms.
- Proven track record of designing and building scalable, high-performance systems and APIs.
- Experience in leading and mentoring a team of engineers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Prior experience in the fintech or financial services industry.
- Experience with Staking and Custody in Blockchain technologies.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with other programming languages such as Python, Go, or C++.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
- Understanding of security best practices in software development.

The base salary ranges included below will be commensurate with candidate experience, expertise and local market. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise. At Galaxy, we maintain a total compensation philosophy which consists of a competitive base salary, annual bonus, and equity incentives.
Base Salary Range
$185,000—$215,000 USD
