JOB PURPOSE

The Lead Software engineer, DICK’s Media (Salesforce) will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and optimizing a CRM platform that spans several Salesforce products to support our DICK’s Media business teams including, but not limited to, sales, media planning, and reporting.  This person will be responsible for leading technical design, overseeing implementation, and driving innovation across our Salesforce platform which includes Sales Cloud, Media Cloud (now Agentforce Media), and Data Cloud, built to serve our sales and operations partners.

The ideal candidate will act as a Salesforce technical SME, utilizing their hands-on experience with OmniStudio development and proficiency in building customizations (Flows, Apex, LWC, integrations) for Sales and Media clouds.  They will leverage their technical acumen to provide recommendations for innovation on the platform, build and support ad sales workflows, and provide guidance on the utilization around adopting Agentforce to optimize our operations.

As a lead engineer at DICK’s Sporting Goods, this person will be responsible for leading a team to execute the mission outlined above.  This person will work closely with a senior product manager to shape roadmaps, provide technical guidance and recommendations, provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers, and act as a technical point of contact for the engineering team to stakeholders. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Software Development

Own development of the most complex existing and new software by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement within assigned product team. Develop software that is fast, secure and reliable to meet defined requirements.

Software Maintenance

Monitor, identify, and correct the most complex software defects to maintain fully functioning software within the product team.

Design and Conceptualization

Own work with cross-functional teams to conceptualize products and services, leveraging data to drive original design ideas and decisions for assigned product team.

Technical Developments Recommendation

Discuss and recommend more complex or innovative solutions to better meet users’ and/or business, performance, quality needs.

Software Roadmap

Own a roadmap map to facilitate software development and ensure the development work is prioritized in line with business requirements.

Faults Diagnosis and Correction

Find root cause and resolution to limit and address issues promptly.

Work Scheduling and Allocation

Develop medium- or long-term work schedules that enable the organization to achieve its business goals. Involves coordinating across multiple teams.

Functional/Technical Requirements

Support the collection functional requirements using document analysis and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.

Ongoing Learning and Development

Act as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the team. Develop and maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging external regulation and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Program/Portfolio Management Support

Contribute to the management of a portfolio of programs within assigned product team while reporting to and in partnership with senior teammates.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES

  • Experience leading, architecting and implementing Salesforce Solutions, specifically with Sales and Media Clouds

  • Experience integrating Salesforce with APIs and other data export technologies

  • Proficiency with Sales and/or Media Cloud customizations including accounts, opportunities, leads, forecasting and pipelines workflows

  • Proficiency with Media Cloud components such as CPQ, product catalog, and OmniStudio

  • Mastery of Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, and platform automation

  • Experience with utilizing CI/CD Git-based practices and Salesforce

  • Prior experience mentoring and growing more junior engineers

EXPERIENCE THAT WILL SET CANDIDATES APART

  • Experience with Agentforce or AI-assisted automation for Salesforce

  • Experience with building and designing AI agents to work with Media Cloud specifically

  • Prior experience with advertising inventory management solutions in Salesforce including calendar-based inventory views, reservations, automated releases, and capacity tracking

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred

  • 6-10 years of experience

  • 7-12 months experience of generalist supervision of junior colleague

Targeted Pay Range: $95,200.00 - $158,800.00. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
