What is the Jr. Quant Developer - C#, SQL & Python - responsible for?
OSAM is hiring a Jr. Quantitative Developer/Software Developer for IMMEDIATE HIRE to join our Quant Technology team. The ideal candidate will have solid computer science fundamentals, a demonstrated passion for solving problems with technology, and possess strong programming experience. This position is a hands-on role responsible for developing, supporting, and maintaining firmwide research, investment, risk, performance, and trading data-rich platform supported by applications, APIs, and visualization tools. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a strong technical background and excellent communication skills to interface directly with OSAM’s research team.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Jr. Quant Developer – C#, SQL & Python?

Work directly with senior developers and research group to integrate and optimize research data processes and models

Design and develop in C# / Python / SQL in a stable and scalable manner

Build robust data pipelines from many sources of varied levels of data quality, supporting both research demands, ad-hoc client analytic requests, and the core production applications

Work with researchers, portfolio managers, and quants to implement, support, and run portfolio models
What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

Bachelor’s degree in computer science / related field of study; advanced degree a +

Solid computer science fundamentals

Knowledge of data structures and algorithms

Excellent communication skills to be able to interact with a wide range of users ranging from very technical (quants) to non-technical

Experience working in a financial services company, ideally in asset management

Experience working in a front office environment with researchers and portfolio managers
What technology skill sets are critical to the success of this role?

C#, Python, and SQL scripting experience (SQL Server)

Working knowledge developing in MS Visual Studio (or VS Community editions)

Familiarity with proper source control practices (Git preferred)

Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code

Working knowledge developing with Azure technologies

Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $105,000 and $120,000.
