Job Description
Oppenheimer's Operations team is seeking a candidate that will support the daily functioning of the Portfolio Services department.
Responsibilities:
- Work independently and cooperatively within the specified section
- Comply with section policies, procedures, and escalation protocols
- Perform Date of Death Step-Ups by verifying supporting documentation and updating accounts of deceased clients
- Update cost basis within client accounts using internal software utilized by all branches nationwide
- Understand corporate actions (e.g., exchanges, mergers, spin-offs) to identify and address system errors
- Communicate with Financial Professionals across branch offices to obtain proper documentation
- Analyze daily surveillance data reports and identify and address data breaks
- Correct versus purchases per instructions provided by Financial Professionals
- Assist with internal transfers within the firm
- Review financial documents provided by delivering firms to update cost basis
- Ensure options are properly exercised
- Maintain internal software (Insight) to ensure cost basis accurately reflects account activity
- Maintain daily log reports for management, ensuring notable breaks are addressed or identified as false alarms
- Assist branch offices with ad hoc requests
- Identify unresolved violations and escalate issues to management when necessary
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college education preferred
- 1–2 years of financial services experience preferred but not required
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills in a professional environment
- Ability to work as part of a team and support team members as needed
- Willingness to learn
Compensation:
For job postings in New York City, Oppenheimer is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. This salary range is specific to the City of New York and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making salary decisions including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary is $55,000.00 at the time of this posting. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus.
