About the Position

We are looking for an IT Hardware Specialist to help us manage the desktop hardware devices that we provide for our colleagues, and to help us expand our portfolio of hardware offerings in both our work-from-home and office environments.

After listening to colleagues about their daily hardware needs, you’ll put your market knowledge and product insights to work, finding potential technical solutions and collaborating with vendors to research and test hardware options.

Once you have a complete picture of market offerings, you’ll write detailed recommendations on what will work best for us. You’ll also collaborate closely with our IT team to incorporate these hardware choices into our existing Windows and Linux environments.

Your work will involve a large portfolio of hardware types, including remote working solutions, workstations, monitors, and various desktop peripherals such as microphones, headsets, and other interface technologies. As you manage the lifecycle of our existing technology, you’ll be expected to proactively search for opportunities to innovate and upgrade.

As new technology is introduced, you’ll assess long-term performance using both automatically generated metrics and end-user assessment to inform future product selection. Your daily work will directly improve the user experience for colleagues across the firm.

About You

  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role and a deep knowledge of computer hardware, desktop peripherals, and audio and video conferencing equipment
  • Can provide in-depth written assessments of relative performance between similar hardware options, along with your recommendations
  • Able to integrate and troubleshoot driver issues within a Windows Operating System
  • Highly organized self-starter with exceptional attention to detail
  • Reliable, courteous, and flexible team player with a “customer first” mentality
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to analyze and explain complex technical problems with brevity and accuracy
  • Can handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to write PowerShell scripts
  • Experienced with automated OS builds and deployment
