The Infrastructure team at Squarespace ensures the scalability, security, and efficiency of our cloud environment. We are dedicated to driving continuous improvements across our infrastructure. As cloud usage becomes an important operational indicator for our business, we are looking for a FinOps Lead to help manage and optimize our cloud-related expenditures.

The FinOps Lead will be a critical player in promoting a culture of cost accountability and awareness regarding Squarespace's cloud usage. Your role will involve building, maintaining, and supporting financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and consumption analysis related to cloud infrastructure. Working closely with engineering, finance, and product teams, the FinOps Lead will identify opportunities and implement process improvements, establish governance and transparency around cloud cost management.

You will report to our VP of Infrastructure and be based hybrid in our NYC headquarters.

  • Collaborate with teams in engineering, finance, and product to design and implement a comprehensive FinOps program roadmap.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to monitor and analyze cloud consumption, promoting proactive cost optimization.
  • Build financial models and provide accurate forecasts for cloud spending.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and governance related to cloud cost management.
  • Evaluate data patterns to extract actionable insights for strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvements in cost management processes, reporting, and visibility across the organization.
  • Devise dashboards and reports that monitor cloud usage.
  • Develop strategies to optimize cloud-related expenditures in preparation for a cloud migration

Who We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud cost management, FinOps, or a related role.
  • Background in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting within cloud environments.
  • Experience with cloud platform technology, GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience with data visualization tools to monitor and report on cloud usage.
  • Experienced in collaborating with engineering, finance, and product teams.

Cash Compensation Range: $148,500 - $239,200 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
