Memfault is looking to bring on a talented individual to help run and scale our internal finance capability. The role is a mix of Finance Operations and FP&A responsibilities, great for someone interested in utilizing their broad finance experience, learn and be a part of all it takes to build a growth SaaS firm! Daily activities will include maintaining and improving finance processes, performing monthly financial statement analysis, managing forecast and budget processes. Reporting to the VP of Operations and Finance, you will have resources available to you including a external accounting teams you will manage and a RevOps manager as a peer. You are set up for success having a great financial platform and foundation of processes built up for you to take ownership of.


To be a great fit, you should have a mix of finance experience (any of accounting, finance operations, FP&A, etc.), ideally in SaaS or software businesses. You should be excited to learn how to build businesses and especially the finance department in one. You should love to wear many hats, work autonomously, and be depended on for important and accurate results with visibility to the senior leaders in the company. You should be an expert with spreadsheets and have experience with Salesforce and QBO. This is an excellent opportunity for people looking to accelerate their learning and career growth!

Finance & accounting related responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of organizational financial reports, working with our external accounting team
  • Manage the annual budget process and monitor our performance on a monthly basis
  • Manage implementation of appropriate fiscal internal controls, accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure payroll local, state, and federal compliance and on-time completion
  • Monitor and approve monthly credit card and expense report

Other operations related responsibilities:

  • Manage and improve the company performance metrics dashboard
  • Support preparation of materials for presentations to the Board, investors and internal audiences
  • Management and improvement of process documentation
  • Lead efforts to understand long-term organizational needs, and proactively identify, implement and operationalize requisite tools and processes to support our future state

Requirements:

  • Strong and applicable business administration and/or financial management experiences
  • Strong analytical skills; must be very strong with MS Excel or Google Sheets, data analysis, and internet technologies
  • High levels of trustworthiness, discretion, and professional demeanor
  • Extremely organized and great attention to detail
  • Salesforce or other CRM experience
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; a desire to trailblaze

It would be great if you have:

  • Experience in managing contractors and serving as a liaison between contractors and staff
  • SQL, scripting or other programming experience
  • Experience using Slack, Google Workspace, Quickbooks, BI tools
  • Experience in a SaaS or Software company 200 headcount
  • The ability to travel to other US or International sites or locations occasionally
