About Adaptive Security

Adaptive is a cybersecurity startup on a mission to stop AI-powered cyberattacks, founded by Brian Long and Andrew Jones—proven entrepreneurs behind Attentive (Forbes Cloud 100, $10B+ valuation) and TapCommerce (acquired by Twitter). In April 2025, Adaptive raised $43M, led by a16z and the OpenAI Fund, marking OpenAI's first-ever cybersecurity investment.

As generative AI drives new cyber threats, Adaptive is building the defense layer every organization needs. Our platform combines personalized security training, AI-driven attack simulations, and automated threat triage, all powered by the Adaptive Risk Intelligence Engine to quantify human risk at the individual level. Trusted by top banks, tech companies, and healthcare organizations, we protect teams from emerging threats like deepfakes, smishing, and voice scams. With a solid product foundation and a $200B+ market to transform, we're just getting started.

The Role

Adaptive is hiring a Finance and Accounting Manager to support our growing financial operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of key financial processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. You will work closely with the leadership team and our external partners to manage bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and internal processes like expense management and sales commission payouts. This is a hands-on position perfect for a highly organized and detail-oriented professional looking to build their career in a fast-paced startup environment.

What You'll Do
  • Manage Bookkeeping & Accounting: Work directly with our outsourced bookkeeping firm to ensure all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.

  • Oversee Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the full A/P and A/R cycle, from processing invoices to ensuring timely payments.

  • Own Financial Processes: Administer key financial processes, including expense report management, sales commission calculations, and payroll support.

  • Assist with Analysis: Support the leadership team with ad-hoc analysis and data gathering to inform financial planning and operational decisions.

  • Maintain Financial Infrastructure: Help maintain and improve our internal systems and processes for financial reporting and tracking.

Who You Are
  • Foundational Finance Experience: You have hands-on experience (4+ years) in accounting and financial operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, particularly at a high growth SaaS company.

  • Detail-Oriented & Accountable: You have a strong commitment to accuracy and take full ownership of your work, ensuring financial data is precise and transparent.

  • Process-Driven: You enjoy building and improving systems to make financial tasks more efficient and scalable.

  • Collaborative Team Player: You can communicate effectively and partner with internal teams and external providers to get things done.

  • Analytical Mindset: You are comfortable working with data and are eager to learn how to apply financial insights to business decisions.

What We Offer
  • Hands-On Experience & Growth: Gain immediate, hands-on experience in a critical function and directly contribute to the company's success.

  • Equity & Growth: Share in Adaptive’s upside alongside seasoned founders with multiple $B+ exits.

  • Comprehensive Benefits: Premium medical, dental, and vision coverage.

  • Culture of Innovation: Fast-paced, collaborative environment that rewards experimentation and bold ideas.

  • Career Development: Direct exposure to executive leadership and opportunities to expand into broader operational functions as we scale.

If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and help build the financial operations for one of the most ambitious cybersecurity brands in the world, join Adaptive as our Finance and Accounting Manager and help us scale our mission.
