Job Description
The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) at JPMorgan Chase is tasked with accelerating the firm's data and analytics journey, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security, and leveraging it to promote decision-making. The CDAO harnesses artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to support the firm's commercial goals, develop new products, and enhance risk management. The Strategy and Execution team defines and executes the CDO vision and strategy. The Firmwide Chief Data Office (CDO) maximizes the value and impact of data globally, with teams focused on data strategy, impact optimization, privacy, governance, transformation, and talent.
As an Executive Director - Data Publishing at JPMorgan Chase, you will be at the forefront of establishing firmwide standards for publishing and sharing data. Your role will involve defining a strategy framework for data standards and processes to ensure seamless data sharing across the firm. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in data management, strategic thinking, and strong interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate with senior executives and mentor team members.
Job Responsibilities:
- Define and implement comprehensive standards and processes to facilitate efficient and secure data sharing across distinct groups within JPMorgan Chase.
- Communicate effectively with senior executives to advocate for data publishing initiatives and influence decision-making.
- Author detailed guidance, which may include technical specifications and designs, which align with the firm's data strategy and standards.
- Collaborate with business partners (Technology, Legal, Compliance, Data, Finance, etc.) to understand their data management needs and ensure that the proposed Data Contract standards and processes meet these requirements.
- Effectively navigate the complexities of a large organization to drive the adoption of data standards and processes.
- Mentor team members and partners, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Design and refine firmwide processes to enhance data interoperability and accessibility across the firm.
- Stay informed about the latest trends in data management and data contracts.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- 8+ years of relevant experience within the field of data engineering in financial services, data/technology, or related industry.
- Bachelors or advanced degree (MS, PhD) in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science) or equivalent experience.
- Experience with a broad range of data engineering tools/frameworks and programming languages. (GraphQL, SPARCL, JSON Schema, Turtle, Python, SQL)
- Strong technical background with in-depth expertise of data quality, data management, and data contracts and possess the ability to write and understand technical specifications.
- Effective communicator with excellent written communication skills.
- Experience navigating and mobilizing resources across a large organization.
- Ability to lead and mentor teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently under aggressive targets and effectively manage changes in planning and process.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Knowledge and understanding of a broad set of JPMC products and processes is a value add.
- Familiarity with the financial services industry, its data management practices, and previous data contract implementations.
- Experience in designing and implementing processes for data management and sharing.
- Demonstrated interest in emerging technology and data management trends.
- Thorough understanding of industry best practices in relation to data contracts and data management standards.
