About the team 

The Payments team at Paxos drives seamless stablecoin and fiat currency transfers, revolutionizing large-scale money movements like payments and conversions while enhancing stablecoin utility. Their mission is to deliver a world-class stablecoin movement infrastructure through developer-friendly APIs and a reliable, scalable platform, empowering financial institutions to confidently integrate stablecoin solutions into their offerings.

About the role

As the Engineering Manager for the Payments team at Paxos, you will play a critical role in leading and shaping our payments solutions growth. You will bring your strong background in modern technologies and process-oriented leadership to guide our team through crucial technology choices, strategic direction, and operational excellence.

What you’ll do 

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of payments solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, operations, and other engineering teams to define project scope, objectives, and timelines.
  • Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of applications and infrastructure.
  • Establish and enforce best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation.
  • Manage resource allocation, budget planning, and project prioritization to optimize team productivity and project outcomes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new team members to build a strong and cohesive engineering team

About you 

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in software engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a management role within an engineering team.
  • Familiarity with code deployment and maintenance, cloud platforms and services.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Pay and benefits

Paxos offers a competitive total compensation and benefits package, including equity and bonuses based on both your individual performance and company performance. Eligibility for bonuses is dependent on job level, and actual salary within the range depends on your skills, experience, and qualifications.

Expected range for the salary component for candidates located within the United States is:

$223,961$263,483 USD
