The Role
The Alchemy Node Services team builds Supernode, with the mission to “build industry leading Web3 API to power all Web3 applications”. As an engineering manager on the team, you'll be responsible for supporting engineering teams in execution both technically and culturally as we continue to scale our company.
You will be responsible for the core backend service team building reliable and scalable services including edge routing, cross region failover, resource isolation and DDoS protection, rate limiting and spam control, caching, advanced blockchain transaction routing, etc.

- 99.99% reliability
- extreme cost efficiency on multi-cloud
- low latency with multi-region
- fast feature development speed
As part of working on the cornerstone of Alchemy’s product suite & solving industry leading technical challenges (multi-region, multi-cloud, 99.99% reliability), you’ll support an extremely senior engineering team, deeply participate in product strategy with senior leadership, as well as deeply engage with customers / sales to distribute our product.

What You'll Do:
- Drive execution of the broader team strategies, including core backend services for Alchemy’s SuperNode product.
- Oversee technical and product strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional products and services.
- Stay updated on the bleeding edge of technological and ecosystem advancements to drive technical strategies keeps Alchemy at edge of competition; effectively communicate concepts and progress.
- Enhance execution, mentor the team, and refine processes as the team scales. Provide technical mentorship to ensure high-quality standards.
- Foster team growth by actively recruiting and hiring top-tier engineers.
- Influence Alchemy's overall engineering culture through leadership, mentorship, and programs promoting continuous learning and development.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with a preferred focus on distributed systems.
- 2+ years in engineering management; proven success in building and leading backend teams for critical production infrastructure at a high-growth startup.
- Expertise in engineering and maintaining large scale distributed systems.
- Experience developing on and/or leading teams on or in the EVM.
- Experience with Java, K8s, AWS, multi-region, multi-cloud is strongly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with the open-source community.
- Passion for and curiosity around creating innovative solutions that cater to the needs of the next billion users in the blockchain ecosystem.
- Founding team experience is a plus.

Alchemy is committed to offering competitive compensation, including base salary as well as equity. Additionally, Alchemy offers comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as other benefits such as 401k and unlimited flexible time off.
The base salary range for this position is estimated to be between $135,000 - $275,000 annually. Please note this range reflects base salary only, and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Your salary will be determined by various factors, including relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business needs.
