Catbird is seeking an Email & Retention Marketing Manager to fill an exciting role within our cross-functional marketing team. You will work closely with our VP of Marketing on nurturing loyalty, building brand advocacy, and creating an engaged community. 


The role will be responsible for helping refine Catbird’s lifecycle marketing strategy, encompassing end-to-end email and SMS planning, customer analytics, and loyalty strategies. Our ideal candidate has an acute understanding of how brands can leverage customer data and marketing automation to increase retention and repeat purchases - while also valuing customer insights that live outside of data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Catbird’s marketing, merchandising, and creative teams to plan and deliver end-to-end email and SMS campaigns for both campaigns and automated flows. 
  • Partners closely with art department and CCO on best-in-class visual and copy flow – expressing our brand offerings to its fullest potential 
  • Use segmentation, A/B creative testing, predictive analytics and other optimization strategies for our current email and SMS programs. 
  • Work with the VP of Marketing to audit our current ESP and BI platforms to better merge analytics across the two systems. 
  • Work alongside the marketing and CX team on building out Catbird’s loyalty strategy. 
  • Manage the post-campaign analytics and insights for all retention and loyalty marketing, reporting to internal teams on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. 
  • Fine tune our KPIs and build on our current reporting templates for all customer centric campaigns. 
  • Analyze customer data to help identify high value, predicted high value, loyal, and other VIP segments. 
  • Partner with our retail leads on localized marketing and clienteling tactics leveraging our retail CRM platform. 
  • Refine and build upon our customer survey methodology and customer trends; lead customer lifecycle analysis and actions
  • Work with retail, e-commerce, and marketing stakeholders to identify new programs and experiences to drive customer retention and loyalty at Catbird.
  • Work with marketing and PR on budget recommendations for all customer gifting and VIP programs.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 3-5 years direct experience in email and retention marketing
  • A ‘test and learn’ approach 
  • Experience with Google Analytics and BI tools; Looker a plus
  • Experience with Magento and Klaviyo - a strong plus!  
  • Direct experience in driving revenue and brand awareness 
  • Loves and lives in consumer insights - both the hard and soft data 
  • Previous experience working in e-commerce, fashion or luxury brand preferred 
  • Ability to work in different team dynamics on a daily basis 
  • Knowledge of the Catbird ethos and sustainability is always a plus!

Compensation: $120,000/year, plus bonus
