The Editorial Assistant provides administrative support and contributes daily to People.com. This includes researching and updating galleries, conducting interviews with celebrities and reporting at red carpets and events, as well as writing stories on a variety of subjects as the news cycle dictates. The Editorial Assistant will work across multiple content areas and will exercise expert news judgment in helping spot, pitch and execute stories sourced from social media and emerging content streams. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented and organized, have the ability to multitask under tight deadlines and have a passion for the PEOPLE brand and knowledge of the evolving digital landscape.

50% Writing digital content on a variety of topics and in a variety of formats (stories, galleries).
25% Provide administrative support.
20% Conducting interviews and reporting, including on red carpets.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism or communications, related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Minimum 1-2 years or previous internship and experience at a major digital media brand required at the editorial assistant level, along with experience in writing and reporting.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Good writing, editing and research skills.
Good organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting tight deadlines.
Must be very detail oriented.
Have a passion for the PEOPLE brand and the celebrity landscape.
