CNN's Digital Products & Services group is seeking a dynamic Director of Digital Strategy to help realize our ambitious product, user and revenue goals. Reporting to the SVP of Strategy & Business Operations, this important role will bring strategic thinking skills and problem-solving excellence to across all areas of our digital business. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of leading complex pieces of work in the digital space. They will play a crucial role in shaping the future of CNN's digital strategy, working closely with senior leadership to solve, structure, develop and implement strategies that capitalize on emerging opportunities in the rapidly evolving media landscape.
Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Drive Product Excellence and User Growth: Collaborate with CNN executives and cross-functional teams to develop strategies that enhance product quality and accelerate user growth across CNN's digital portfolio.
  • Drive Revenue Growth: Partner closely with CNN executives and cross-functional teams to identify and implement strategies that drive revenue growth across all areas of the digital business, particularly in advertising and subscriptions.
  • Spearhead Strategic Initiatives: Structure and execute ad-hoc strategic initiatives by developing comprehensive work plans, gathering and synthesizing relevant data, leading detailed analyses, developing actionable recommendations, and establishing new operating cadences where necessary.
  • Roadmap Development: Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Design, UX, and other key stakeholders to shape and refine product roadmaps. Ensure that our product strategies are aligned with business objectives and user needs, and that they drive measurable outcomes.
  • Drive business expansion: Oversee the creation of robust business cases for new market, country, or partner entry, expansion, or exit, ensuring thorough analysis and strategic alignment with business goals.
  • Annual Planning and OKR-Setting: Lead the annual planning process and OKR-setting for individual cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and focus on key business priorities.


Qualifications & Experience...

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in management consulting, business strategy, or related fields; or 8+ years with an advanced degree.
  • Proven track record (8+ years) of developing business strategies and managing cross-functional initiatives, preferably in media or digital industries.
  • Extensive experience (8+ years) working with executive stakeholders in fast-paced, results-driven environments.
  • Deep understanding of digital products, subscriptions and advertising business models.
  • Strong background in media, tech, or consumer products industries

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $125,090.00 - $232,310.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
