Job Summary:

The Director of Finance will play an important role in the finance team, reporting to the VP of Finance. This visible role will partner with a general manager to provide in-depth financial insight to the leadership team while helping create business strategies. You will lead the forecasting, analysis, strategic planning, and preparing materials for important partners in the business.


You will manage two finance professionals who will lead the financial modeling work and help prioritize the work. Being a working manager while coaching the team will be critical for evolving the team and development of the staff. You will need to be a thought leader, challenging existing processes and assumptions to generate new ideas and process improvements. In partnership with the General Management team and the VP of Finance you will develop and enhance the financial management of the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be a strategic finance partner to executives, general managers and functional leaders across the business.
  • Lead a finance team that drives outcomes, promoting a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Provide financial reporting, analysis and KPI metrics to the business teams, helping them manage their businesses to achieve or exceed financial and operational targets.
  • Provide financial models and analysis to guide the organization to make decisions that create the highest return on investment, including scenario planning for organic and inorganic growth.
  • Manage scale projects across the finance organization and the greater business.
  • Present internally and externally, including development of best-in-class board and investor materials.
  • Own the monthly forecast and the annual planning processes for the business unit. You will review and consolidate results with your team to produce revenue and gross margin forecasts.
  • Manage cost structure and support your team in identifying solutions to deliver on targets
  • Drive structure and efficiency within the forecast and close process, by creating timelines and helping to manage workflow.
  • Drive forecast quality, by making sure the forecast is based on logical and defensible assumptions
  • Proactive reporting of budget versus actuals.
  • Track headcount (newly open recs to hires, temps, unbudgeted requests, etc.).
  • Forecast and manage headcount (recruiting capacity and attrition) and non-headcount expenses with key drivers, where appropriate.
  • Establish driver based analysis of each department, to drive appropriate scaling.
  • Assist with preparation for the Board of Directors and Ops Review.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis as required.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of operational FP&A experience with direct experience supporting cost center owners and overseeing forecasts of various types.
  • Experience communicating analytical findings for a range of different audiences, with a strong ability to support internal customers.
  • Experience producing accurate results and for important audiences.
  • Strong financial statement analysis skills and working knowledge of accounting, as it relates to the forecast.
  • Strong systems skills (Anaplan or other comparable forecasting tools).Ability to influence leadership through clear presentation and communication of complex data analysis.
  • Apply a financial lens to a business scenario to develop recommendations to decision makers.
  • Work with team members in a hands-on management capacity.
  • Experience within healthcare, specifically clinic delivery

Physical/Cognitive Requirements:

  • Prompt and regular attendance at assigned work location.
  • Capability to remain seated in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
  • Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate keyboard, computer and other office-related equipment.
  • No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of about 20 lbs of force (e.g., lifting a computer / laptop) may be required.
  • Capability to work with leadership, employees, and members in an appropriate manner.

The United States new hire base salary target ranges for this full-time position are:

Zone A: $149,450 - 211,100+ equity + benefits

Zone B: $164,395 - 232,210 + equity + benefits

Zone C: $179,340 - 253,320 + equity + benefits

Zone D: $194,285 - 274,430 + equity + benefits

Starting base salary for you will depend on several job-related factors, unique to each candidate, which may include education; training; skills; years and depth of experience; certifications and licensure; our needs; internal peer equity; organizational considerations; and understanding of geographic and market data. Compensation structures and ranges are tailored to each zone's unique market conditions to ensure that all employees receive fair and great compensation package based on their roles and locations.
