We are seeking a Director of Data Product Management to join our growing Product Management team at CAIS. Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, this role will collaborate with the Technology, Data, and Product Teams to define the vision, objectives, and strategic roadmap for product execution. The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator with strong attention to detail and time management skills. They bring creativity, flexibility, and the drive to consistently deliver mission-critical projects under tight timelines and competing priorities. Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data product strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business goals and market trends. 
  • Define and communicate the vision and roadmap for data products, ensuring they meet customer needs and deliver measurable value to the business. 
  • Act as the key liaison between technical teams (engineering, data science, analytics) and business stakeholders to ensure successful product delivery.  
  • Gather, prioritize, and translate product and customer requirements into detailed product specifications and actionable features, ensuring alignment with company strategy. 
  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle from concept through launch and beyond, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and performance of data products. 
  • Leverage data and analytics to inform product decisions, measure performance, and optimize user experiences. 
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.  
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of data product managers, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and accountability. 
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on product performance, roadmap progress, and strategic initiatives. 
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and trends in data product management to drive ongoing innovation. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA, MS) is preferred. 
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years focused on data products or data-driven solutions.  
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and to manage product management teams, with exceptional people management skills focused on mentorship and development required.  
  • Strong understanding of data technologies, analytics platforms, machine learning, and big data environments; familiarity with tools like SQL, Python, or similar is a plus. 
  • Previous financial services experience required (Alternative Investments or Wealth Management space strongly preferred); prior experience working in a 2-sided digital marketplace a plus. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the proven ability to make data-driven decisions. 
  • Deep understanding of customer needs, with a proven ability to deliver products that meet and exceed customer expectations. 
  • Experience with requirements tracking tools such as Jira, Confluence, or an equivalent, and/or experience working with Agile methodologies. 
  • Scrum Master, Agile, and PMP certification preferred. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

CAIS’ compensation package includes a market competitive salary, a performance bonus, and exceptional benefits. If you are located in New York, New York, the base salary range for this role is $200,000 - $285,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.

Additionally, CAIS offers a flexible, hybrid in-office model; for most roles, we do not require a minimum number of days in office per week.
