About the Role:
The Director, Clinical Network Operations will provide administrative and clinical operations leadership, and will support the clinical vision and direction of Octave. This includes building and leading our contracted network of clinicians, developing and refining operational workflows to ensure the successful scaling of our contracted clinician team, working cross-functionally with the Product, Operations and Clinical teams to identify gaps in workflows and design process improvements.
This role demands a highly analytical and systematic thinker capable of transforming broad, complex problems into structured, actionable plans. The Director, Clinical Network Operations will be responsible for overseeing contractor onboarding, training, and operations, as well as driving performance improvement and ensuring quality assurance. Additionally, the director will focus on enhancing workflow efficiency and fostering a clinic culture that prioritizes responsive, high-quality patient care.
Management Responsibilities Include:

- Develops, coordinates, and implements systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

- Build and manage a high-performing team, including hiring, training, and development.
- Provide leadership to the team, including setting goals, providing guidance, and ensuring the team's overall success.
- Set performance expectations and goals for team members. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address performance issues.
- Identify skill gaps within the team and develop strategies for filling those gaps. Support employee development through training, mentoring, and coaching. Identify high-potential employees and create succession plans.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Network Management: Direct and oversee a network of contracted clinicians, ensuring they are aligned with our quality care model and consistently deliver high-standard clinical services.
- Best Practices Development: Develop and implement best practices, particularly within our Centers of Excellence, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective integration and ongoing maintenance.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Represent the Clinical Leadership team, providing clinical insights to collaborate with departments across the organization to design process improvements, update workflows, and launch new clinical services—all in support of expanding access to high-quality mental healthcare.
- Platform Configuration & Management: Partner with Clinical Leadership, Product, and Data teams to configure and manage platforms that support both clinical and client-facing workflows, including data collection and reporting functions.
- Demand Forecasting & Onboarding Evaluation: Collaborate with the Marketing team to forecast demand and assess the efficacy of client onboarding processes, ensuring alignment with service capacity and client satisfaction.
- Program & Workflow Management: Build, implement, and maintain programs and workflows to support various operational needs, including contractor onboarding/offboarding, training and resource site management, collaboration with revenue teams on timely and accurate payment processing and ROI, and providing legal and subpoena support.
Required Skills:
- Strong program management skills and a demonstrated ability to work successfully on cross-functional teams
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Passion for mental health and changing the healthcare landscape
- Ability to proactively identity clinical issues before they happen and create resolutions
- Understand how to operationalize new requests without creating a series of “one-off” solutions
- Knowledge of current and emerging best practices in the technology and mental healthcare space
- Broad knowledge of patient population served and the requirements for the delivery of services
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years in a combination of operations, strategy, people management or consulting roles; startup experience is strongly preferred
- Experience working in behavioral health setting, either as an operator or a license Clinician
- Current clinical license and PsyD, PhD, LMFT, LPCC or LCSW preferred
- Proven people leader who can effectively guide, motivate and empower their team
- Proven success building relationships with remote stakeholders
- Familiarity with Excel, Spreadsheet and Tableau

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to frequently communicate with others through virtual meeting applications such as Zoom and Google Meet.
- Must be able to observe and communicate information on company provided laptop.
- Move up to 10 pounds on occasion.

Starting pay for qualified applicants will depend on a combination of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is set forth below and this range may be modified in the future.
The salary range is for zone 1 (all states not in zone 2 or zone 3) $152,100 - $178,300.
The salary range for zone 2 (CO, HI, MD, RI) is $167,400 - $196,100.
The salary range for zone 3 (AK, CA, CT, MA, NJ, NY, WA) is $174,900 - $205,00.
All zones are eligible for equity in the form of stock options, plus target bonus incentives based on performance.
Additionally, this position is eligible for the following benefits: company sponsored life insurance, disability and AD&D plans. Voluntary benefits such as 401k retirement, medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, dependent care and commuter/parking options are also available.
