About the role

We are seeking a Director of Brand to lead our brand strategy, identity, creative development, and brand marketing initiatives. The Director of Brand will play a pivotal role in designing and bringing to life The Black Tux brand, ensuring alignment with our core values and strategic objectives. This position reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer.


The role is fully remote but will require occasional work in Los Angeles, California. Candidates residing in Los Angeles will be strongly considered.

What You'll Do

  • Concept and execute comprehensive brand marketing campaigns that resonate with our target audience and drive brand awareness and loyalty.
  • Own The Black Tux's brand identity, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints and communication channels.
  • Oversee the creative direction of high-quality assets, including but not limited to photography, videography, graphic design, and copywriting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop and implement a content strategy that engages our audience across various channels (web, retail stores, social media, email, blog, IRL events, etc.) and formats.
  • Oversee The Black Tux's social media presence, including content strategy, community engagement, partnership development, and our influencer program.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to measure and optimize brand performance, campaign effectiveness, and customer sentiment.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify brand growth and differentiation opportunities.

What You'll Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in brand marketing, with a proven track record of success in developing and executing brand strategies.
  • Strong understanding of cultural trends, consumer behavior, and how modern apparel brands are being built today.
  • Natural ability to lead, inspire, and be decisive in times of change or ambiguity. 
  • Defaults to action and effectively drives brand alignment across the organization.
  • Proven experience refining and growing highly recognized lifestyle, creative-led, premium brands.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with design applications such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, etc. is preferred.
