The Role
As a Community Manager at Datadog, you will plan and execute community initiatives, collaborate with product and engineering teams, maintain developer hubs, moderate forums, analyze community engagement data, and more. Ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience in community management within the B2B SaaS industry and strong communication skills.
Summary Generated by Built In

At Datadog we value our engaged and growing community of users. As our user community grows we're looking for our first Community Manager to maintain and refine our existing programs related to our community, as well as define and build high impact projects related to community growth and engagement. As a Community Manager at Datadog, you will work with both our engineering and product teams, and external users to ensure our community is robust and well cared for. You will help our teams become more efficient, resolve blockers, actively engage the community, and lead execution to deliver on our key initiatives, including large-scale events such as our DASH conference and our growing community platforms.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships that it builds, the creativity it brings to the table, and the collaboration of being together. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
What You'll Do:

  • Plan and execute community initiatives and programs (such as our Datadog Ambassador program)
  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams, developer advocates, and external users
  • Build and maintain a developer hub that enables community members to browse and discover technical content and code, including triaging new requests for this hub and routing requests to the correct teams
  • Maintain, grow, and moderate our public forums
  • Create and refine processes; maintain focus on continual improvements, automation and scaling
  • Identify success metrics, collect and analyze data, and report on overall levels of engagement in our communities, and use this to create and implement plans for continued improvement

Who You Are:

  • You have approximately 3-5 years of experience in program or community management, leading initiatives such as growing large scale communities within a similar technical environment (B2B SaaS company), partnering closely with technical stakeholders
  • You're generally aware of the terms, tools, and major companies associated with the cloud infrastructure industry: scaling, security, performance, observability, and logging.
  • You have experience working collaboratively across cross-functional teams, strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and experience building and fostering effective working relationships
  • You have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and enjoy building processes
  • You have experience measuring and reporting on community health and growth and you take a data-driven approach to community management; building tools (workflows, custom work intake processes, estimation models), collecting and analyzing data, and driving stakeholder buy-in
  • You are aware of open source projects and tooling, ideally those Datadog is an active contributor to
  • You have experience influencing without direct authority at senior levels internal and external to the organization
  • You're comfortable with community and project management tools such as Slack, Github, Jira

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
Benefits and Growth:

  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing
  • Intradepartmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking
  • An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds (Datadog employee resource groups)
  • Access to Inclusion Talks, our Internal panel discussions
  • Free, global mental health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+
  • Competitive global benefits
