The Real Simple commerce team is seeking a Commerce Editor to assign, edit, and update evergreen shopping roundups and gift guides. The ideal candidate is a digitally savvy editor who is passionate about creating engaging editorial content on home and lifestyle topics.
As Real Simple’s Commerce Editor, you will be responsible for assigning and editing commerce content, publishing content in our CMS, and updating existing content. This job requires both analytical and editorial skills to help you provide readers with trusted recommendations tailored to their budgets and needs. This role will report to the Senior Editorial Director on the Real Simple commerce team.
About the role:

Assign, edit, and publish evergreen commerce content using internal testing data, marketplace knowledge and research, and SEO analysis.

Update existing commerce content based on performance data, updated product information, and testing insights.

Manage relationships with freelance writers, including sourcing and onboarding new high-quality writers as needed.

Assist in our testing process by evaluating products at home, researching potential products to test, and working with Real Simple’s research and testing team on methodologies for product testing.

Participate in editorial meetings and pitch ideas for new content.

Stay current on trends and new products.

Communicate effectively throughout the organization on goals and objectives.

In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.
About you:

3-5 years of experience working in the editorial commerce space, ideally focused on home or lifestyle categories.

Strong editor and writer capable of writing engaging shopping content, all the while keeping the Real Simple voice, values, style, and audience in mind.

A product enthusiast who spends time shopping and obsessing over purchases, particularly useful, clever products that help make readers’ lives easier.

Proven aptitude for communicating and collaborating with editorial team members.

Experience with SEO best practices and content management systems.
