About the Role

The Chief of Staff to the CPTO will play a critical role in enabling and facilitating the strategic priorities and operational execution of the Product-Tech organization at Hinge. This role is designed to empower the CPTO by managing the day-to-day operational and communication complexities of a fast-paced, high-growth environment, allowing the CPTO to focus on setting the vision and driving strategic decisions. Acting as a trusted partner and enabler, the Chief of Staff will ensure that initiatives are executed efficiently, stakeholders are aligned, and Product-Tech organization operates smoothly.

Responsibilities:

  • Support annual planning and OKRs setting processes, ensuring product-tech and organization’s goals are aligned and progress is visible.
  • Facilitate the execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with Hinge’s mission and objectives.
  • Partner with the CPTO and Operations to track, report, and communicate the strategic direction of the Product-Tech organization.
  • Collaborate with product-tech leadership, operations and Talent Acquisition to craft and track a hiring plan that supports organizational strategy.
  • Identify bottlenecks and challenges, proactively providing solutions to maintain organizational momentum.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives and operational priorities as directed by the CPTO.
  • Draft CPTO’s internal and external communications, including Slack announcements, OKR updates, and presentation materials, ensuring clarity and alignment of messaging.
  • Build and refine presentations for Product-Tech All-Hands, Monthly Business Reviews, and annual planning meetings.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Streamline decision-making processes and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Plan and execute team meetings, including agenda creation, materials preparation, and action item follow-ups ensuring no items fall through the cracks.
  • Oversee and improve systems for tracking and reporting strategic and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Manage the annual Product-Tech budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
  • Evaluate, implement, and maintain cost-effective tools in collaboration with Engineering, Data, and ML teams.
  • Optimize the CPTO’s calendar to prioritize strategic initiatives and key meetings.
  • With the support of CPTO’s Executive Assistant: Coordinate 1:1s, skip-level meetings, and cross-functional cadences, oversee logistics for on-site/off-site team gatherings and social events, handle travel, expenses, and coordination of external meetings for the CPTO.
  • Champion Hinge’s culture and foster a collaborative, high-performing environment.
  • Lead initiatives to improve organizational culture and employee engagement.
  • Mentor and coach team members, supporting leadership skill development across the organization

What We're Looking For:

  • Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Mindset: A "no task is too small" mindset—willingness to take on any responsibility, from high-level strategic planning to hands-on operational tasks, to unblock and move initiatives forward.
  • Professionalism: High integrity and discretion, with the ability to maintain a productive and professional environment by avoiding rumor-spreading, non-productive discussions, and engagement in internal politics.
  • Strategy: Proven experience in a Chief of Staff, strategy, or operational leadership role within a tech-driven organization.
  • Planning: Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with a track record of driving initiatives to completion.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills, with experience drafting and presenting materials for executive audiences.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, driving influence and alignment with senior stakeholders.
  • Culture: Deep understanding of and alignment with Hinge’s culture and mission.

“In-person communication and collaboration have been central to keeping our team small and efficient, as well as being able to accommodate a massive scale in a short amount of time. Keeping everyone under one roof has led us to develop ideas through a reliable, data-oriented process. Best of all, feedback isn’t just appreciated; it’s encouraged!“

What We Do

In today’s digital world, singles are so focused on sending likes and looking through profiles that they’re not actually building meaningful connections and going on dates. Hinge is on a mission to change that by designing the most effective app experience. On Hinge, there are no rules, timers, or games. Instead, you’ll have unique conversations over the text, photos, and audio you’ve shared on your profile. And it’s resonating with daters. Hinge was the fastest-growing dating app in the US, UK, Canada and Australia in 2019 and 2020.

Our Culture:
- Authenticity: Share your genuine thoughts and opinions directly.
- Courage: Invite and deeply consider challenges and criticism.
- Empathy: Be empathetic, communitarian and trustworthy.

Why Work With Us

We're mission-driven. While most apps think about boosting sessions and time on app, we think strategically about meaningful end results (dates and relationships).

We're culture-first. We believe in great people over process. Decisions are pushed to the front lines, with feedback and coaching provided by our leaders.
