Our drug discovery and development group includes interdisciplinary teams of drug hunters, preclinical researchers, and clinical developers with decades of combined experience.
Schrödinger's Discovery and Development group is seeking an outstanding intern to work closely with our therapeutics business development and scientific partnering teams. The participant will develop maps of biopharmaceutical company pipelines, areas of interest, and key contact networks to generate partnering plans and activities for targets and programs. The internship will last 12-weeks or longer, depending on the business needs. During the internship, the candidate will gain exposure to different business development and partnership projects, providing a broad view of the differing approaches to value creation.
Responsibilities

  • The intern will be a fully integrated team member and will be assigned to lead various process improvement projects in support of business development partnering plans and interactions with a variety of potential partners.
  • The intern will participate in departmental and project team meetings to obtain an understanding of the business development processes, from outreach and meeting planning to due diligence and partnership management.
  • Established skills are needed to effectively capture and organize business intelligence information and data in a partnering database.
  • The intern will proactively synthesize insights, then disseminate and communicate plans, actions and follow-up activities to relevant stakeholders in scientific outreach and business development.


Qualifications

  • Near completion or completed Master's in Business Administration with a Healthcare, Biotech, or Pharmaceutical focus
  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Life Science discipline
  • Proven track record of strong analytical and critical thinking skills with an ability to accurately record and interpret information and distill and communicate key themes and messages
  • Previous experience in discovery or clinical research, healthcare and/or early-stage companies is strongly desired
  • Experience with Tableau and/or Inova would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability as a detail-oriented self-starter who can work as a cross-functional team member and can deliver results and insights in a timely manner
  • Prior experience in biopharma business development, a strong understanding of business norms and practices, familiarity with market and asset research techniques, and/or due diligence would be a bonus.
  • Strong writing, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are a must


Work Location: Cambridge, MA, or New York City, with travel to either site from the home base up to twice a month.
Estimated Base Salary: $7500/month
