Health is seeking an associate editor to help us keep the growing library of Health.com articles up-to-date and accurate. We are looking for an SEO-savvy content enthusiast with a passion for all things health and wellness. Day to day, you will be responsible for working with staff editors, freelancers, and project managers to keep various editorial improvement projects running. The ideal candidate is familiar with and eager to learn about health and medical topics and enjoys working both independently and with team members.
Hybrid 3x a week- (New York)
In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.
About The Positions Contributions:
Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

30% - Help senior editor create editorial guidelines and standards for large-scale updates to our existing library of evergreen consumer-facing health articles

20% - Help manage and improve workflows for update projects, including set-up and instruction and editing processes

15% - Collaborate with different departments to ensure editorial consistency across a variety of initiatives

15% - Provide feedback and assistance to remote contractors in order to ensure high quality of edits at scale

10% - Edit articles and assist on other editorial projects as needed

10% - Help build out an editorial calendar
The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism or communications, or equivalent experience.
Experience:

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

Detail-oriented and deadline-focused with solid proofreading and communication skills

Experience posting or crafting copy for a brand’s social media

Operating experience with web analytics tools

Background in health, science, or wellness editorial content preferred

Proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic team player
% Travel Required (Approximate): 5%
