The Role

I. Job Summary |

 

The Associate Editor, Evergreen is responsible for producing, top editing, and writing evergreen content on Allrecipes.com. The editor will report to the editorial director and work closely with the evergreen editor to support the creation of SEO-driven editorial content, including food- and recipe-related articles, recipe longform introductions, and recipe roundups, as well as update existing content to improve quality and implement SEO best practices. The editor will have a keen sense of SEO and will be able to independently make decisions based on their own SEO knowledge and research.

II. Essential Job Functions

Weight Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

  • 50% - Produce and top-edit SEO-driven content for the site
  • 20% - Write original SEO-driven content for the site
  • 15% - Update existing content to adhere to SEO best practices
  • 15% - Editorial organizational and administrative support to the team

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, preferably in a related field (i.e., journalism, creative writing, etc.)

- Experience: Two to three years working in a digital editorial environment with experience in digital writing and editing. 

- Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Background in SEO writing and implementing SEO best practices in written documents
  • Proven track record of creating content that drives search traffic
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and work independently
  • Strategic thinker who considers traffic and search analytics before making an editorial decision
  • Background in or passion for food and/or food media
  • Tools: CMS, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Google Trends
