Are you passionate about marketing and eager to shape the future of the drinks industry? Dotdash Meredith is looking for an innovative Associate Director, Marketing to join our Lifestyle team. As a key player in our Drinks vertical, you will collaborate closely with the Drinks Sales team to develop and execute category strategies, manage the pre-sale process, and drive revenue growth with top-tier advertising partners.

This hybrid role, based in NYC or Chicago, requires three days in the office each week and reports directly to the Sr. Director, Marketing. You will also have the opportunity to lead and mentor a dedicated team member.

Hybrid 3x a week- (NYC or Chicago) 

In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

  • Lead Proposal Process: Manage proactive and RFP responses, creating smart, strategic ideas for advertising partners in the Drinks vertical 

  • Vertical Strategy: Collaborate across the Dotdash Meredith portfolio to create sellable opportunities for advertisers that are grounded in our brand’s most influential franchises and tentpoles

  • Brand Communication: Lead internal conversations with Dotdash Meredith brands and verticals to communicate high-value opportunities to the Drink sales team on a regular basis

  • Storytelling: Bring ideas to life through well-written and visually-appealing proposals that represent our brands, capabilities, and ideas flawlessly

  • Cross-Department Communication: Partner closely with Editorial, Content Strategy, Research, Account Strategy, and Design to ensure proposals effectively communicate our unique value proposition

  • Sales Partnership: Develop strong relationships with the sales team to become experts on their business; provide support on client calls, as needed

  • Management: Mentor and manage the workflow of (1) marketing manager to ensure their delivering best in class work for the Drinks vertical

The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree

Experience:

  • 5 - 7 years relevant experience at a digital publisher, with a focus in pre-sales marketing; background in Drinks Category is a plus 

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

  • Excellent creative writing and storytelling skills with an ability to execute visually impactful presentations (fluent in Keynote and Powerpoint)

  • You’re an excellent communicator, who remains poised under pressure and can tailor messages for different audiences

  • You have an understanding of digital advertising landscape, products, and trends; understanding of print and/or programmatic marketplace is a plus

  • You are a true self-starter – provide proactive ideas, understand organizational goals, and move initiatives forward

  • You are comfortable working in a fast paced environment
