The Role

Our Privacy team is looking for an Adtech Privacy & Data Protection Specialist to support key global privacy initiatives with a specific focus on North American and European regional privacy requirements. The Adtech Privacy & Data Protection Specialist should have expert knowledge of the applicable privacy laws as well as of the Adtech ecosystem.

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Acting as expert for Adtech specific privacy compliance inquiries and initiatives
  • Diving deep into our advertising systems to develop a technical understanding of how they work, map data flows, identify current privacy controls, and articulate compliance implications to relevant teams
  • Supporting compliance and privacy related initiatives – including drafting relevant policies and driving adoption of new policies, requirements, and frameworks
  • Identifying risks and driving control implementation in coordination with other teams
  • Evaluating known issues and identifying root causes through end-to-end process assessments
  • Applying a working knowledge of global data privacy regulations and policies to articulate compliance requirements and drive alignment across our Media, Tech and Product teams
  • Following the developments of global privacy laws, customer expectations, and regulatory guidance to identify and communicate key trends and legislative requirements
  • Creating and maintaining privacy policies and procedures that comply with federal and state laws, ensuring they are effectively integrated into the organization's advertising practices
  • Conducting initial and periodic privacy risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities in advertising operations and develop strategies for mitigation
  • Developing and delivering training programs for employees to promote awareness and understanding of privacy policies and legal requirements related to advertising
  • Monitoring compliance with privacy policies and procedures, conducting audits as necessary to ensure adherence to legal standards.
  • Working closely with legal, marketing, media, and IT departments to ensure alignment of privacy practices with business objectives and technological capabilities
  • Maintaining comprehensive records of privacy practices, risk assessments, and compliance activities, and prepare reports for senior management and regulatory authorities as required

Required Skills and Experience  

  • Existing experience in privacy, regulatory, or risk and compliance roles
  • Expert knowledge of key privacy regulations globally (e.g., GDPR, ePrivacy, CCPA, COPPA) and Adtech specific privacy frameworks (e.g., IAB TCF)
  • Experience in data privacy or security compliance in a highly technical environment
  • Record of delivery of privacy process improvement projects with technology processes and/or major tech companies
  • CIPP certifications or willingness to obtain 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and manage relationships with stakeholders to drive results
  • Experience operationalizing and/or managing privacy requirements in the US, Canada, and the EU, including US state-specific requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of privacy risk management methods and industry best practices – knowledge of Adtech industry practices required
  • Ability to understand complex business processes and technologies
  • Analytical decision making with a demonstrated ability problem solve, make decisions in complex situations and drive issues to completion
  • Proven history of having worked effectively across cross-functional teams and business functions to drive positive change at large, complex organizations
  • Experience evaluating the design and effectiveness of privacy controls
  • Experience in working directly with auditors for compliance assessments

What’s in it for you? 

The salary for this role is based on an annualized salary of up to $100000 to $140000 per annum depending on relevant experience. This role will also be eligible to take part in Genius Sports Group's benefits plan.
