We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Manager, Accounting to join our growing accounting team. This role is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to play a key part in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and a passion for ensuring accurate financial reporting.
As the Manager, Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing various accounting processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, managing the month-end close process, and supporting external audits. You will collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the company, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and internal controls.

What You'll Do:

  • Own key areas of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Manage the preparation of financial statements, general ledger reconciliations, and monthly account analyses
  • Answer accounting and financial inquiries from leadership and other internal stakeholders by researching and interpreting data
  • Serve as a key point of contact for the year-end financial statement audit and quarterly reviews including internal audit and SOX requests
  • Take initiative with recommending and implementing process improvements as appropriate to simplify, standardize and streamline efforts
  • Assist with global statutory reporting of international subsidiaries through coordination with external auditors in US and local offices
  • Participate in special projects, including system implementations, process improvements, and ad-hoc financial analyses
  • Research and document the Company's technical accounting issues; present and resolve the Company's positions for critical accounting issues with external auditors
  • Support ESG reporting and sustainability teams with carbon accounting calculations, as needed
  • Provide guidance and training to direct reports to promote team development and growth


Who You Are:

  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with 2+ years of Big Four public accounting experience and BS/BA degree in Finance or Accounting and CPA is required
  • Been in a manager role with internal or external reporting
  • A strong team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude
  • Strong technical accounting background with a knowledge of US GAAP, SOX 404, and SEC reporting standards
  • A proactive approach to problem identification and remediation solutions, and excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact and build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently, complete work timely, and work well as a team member
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Meticulous and superior attention to detail
  • Experience with Workiva and Netsuite

Datadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
