With COVID-19 vaccines being distributed and a presidential inauguration taking place, January has already proven to be a pivotal month for the U.S. In New York City, tech companies are leveraging existing momentum going into the new year so they can scale up. Specifically, professionals at the following companies are working to digitize wealth management, help reduce misdiagnoses in radiology and more. 

And they are looking for talented remote and local candidates to join their ranks.

What excites her most about the future: The ability to continue to grow and flourish in her chosen career path. “Alison, our president, has a leadership style that prioritizes discovering and cultivating the things that her employees are passionate about,” Yi said. “Managers at TQ are trained to help their direct reports identify skills and passion and encourage them to run with it.”

What they do: SmartAsset is a personal finance technology company that offers users free and personalized tools to help them make smart personal decisions around homebuying, retirement and taxes.

What’s kept her around: The growth of the company and the reach and impact of their products and services. “SmartAsset’s main goal is to empower individuals to make smart personal finance decisions and we are able to do that by providing tools and content to millions of people at every step of their financial journey,” Senior UX Researcher Kyrsten Greenfield said. “We’re also able to connect consumers to fiduciary financial advisors via our SmartAdvisor platform, which is fulfilling to see.” 

What excites her most about the future: The team’s goals for 2021. “Our main focus going forward is to delight our users by providing a hyper-personalized and humanized advisor-investor matching service,” Greenfield said. “My team and I have recently set up a number of feedback channels to strengthen our relationship and understanding of our audience base. The insights we collect through those channels will give our users a seat at the table and help drive the future of the SmartAsset experience.”

What they do: Contentsquare is a SaaS user experience analytics platform that helps brands increase their customer engagement and conversion across digital channels. 

What attracted her to Contentsquare: The opportunity to collaborate with an international team. “I've stayed for the endless opportunities to grow with the company,” Solutions Expert Team Lead Ying Yang said. “After joining as a data analyst, I had the opportunity to take on a client-facing role. Currently, I am a team lead within the customer success umbrella, and I am so grateful for the opportunity the team has given me to invest in my career growth.”

What excites her most about the future: Continued product growth and professional development opportunities. “Our product team has made such positive strides, including the integration of new features through acquisitions,” Yang said. “There are opportunities for constant growth as our product evolves.”

What excites him most about the future: The ability to build the next generation of tools that better leverage both brainpower and data. “We provide our market value by applying our sizable workforce of smart humans to complex research needs that cannot be serviced through statistical inference alone,” Lester said. “Yes, we also leverage the ‘data exhaust’ generated by our workforce to continually refine our understanding of complex market and business relationships, but it's the combination of the brainpower and data that unlocks the company’s full potential.”

What attracted him to Yieldstreet: Its mission to provide retail investors with access to alternative investments. “In fintech, capital is readily available from institutional investors to accelerate the transformation of financial services and wealth management, with the noble goals of improving access to financial services,” Chief Revenue Officer Mathew Keshav Lewis said. “I believe Yieldstreet is blazing a trail into new territory, and I wanted to play a leading role in reshaping wealth management.”

What excites him most about the future: The digital transformation of wealth management. “In my role as chief revenue officer and GM for investments, I’m focused on building a strong team and scaling the company’s business model,” Lewis said. “2021 is all about executing on our mission to break open the alternative investments market for retail investors with a diverse mix of scalable investment opportunities that are generally not available to them.”

What they do: Covera Health uses advanced clinical analytics to help healthcare providers and payers better define, measure and deliver care to patients everywhere. The data Covera collects helps their team match people with effective care from the start, reducing misdiagnoses. 

What attracted her to Covera Health: The mission. “When your company’s goal is to reduce misdiagnoses and improve patient care, every workday feels important,” Senior QA Analyst Shara Bromberg said. “There is nothing more inspiring and motivating than working at a company filled with people who are passionate about what they do.”

What excites her most about the future: Building software and AI tools that help patients identify the highest-quality doctors and receive the most accurate diagnoses. “I’m very excited to see how all our teams at Covera will continue working with physicians to define quality and set the highest standards for care,” Bromberg said.

What they do: Rokt helps companies like Live Nation, Groupon and Lands’ End streamline and personalize customer transactions. 

What keeps him around: The new and complex challenges each year brings. “The problems pondered 24 months ago have been solved and, today, we face different, more exciting ones,” Head of Engineering Seth Bell said. “Over the years, we’ve shifted from a traditional monolithic architecture to a globally distributed microservices architecture that handles millions of transactions daily. The engineering required to manage this really excites me.”   

What excites him most about the future: The company’s distributed commerce offering, which leverages machine learning and data processing to make an impact on the e-commerce industry. “All teams are involved at some phase of this development,” Bell said. “My teams will be building tooling that reduces friction in the integration process and providing insights into the platform’s performance.”

What they do: AvePoint is an independent software vendor that allows users to migrate, manage and protect data in Microsoft 365. 

What’s kept her around: The culture and ability to grow her career. “I started as a corporate recruiter and have since been given so much support to help develop the talent acquisition team to what it is today,” VP of People Melissa Fingerhut said. “I’ve been pushed by my managers and our senior leadership team, even when I first started, to learn about the business and to think big. I’ve always been given the support and autonomy to try new things and learn what works and doesn’t work.” 

What excites her most about the future: Scaling the business and expanding the way that the people team supports employee growth. “I’m excited about being pushed to think bigger than ever and learn from others about how we continue to grow our employee development programs,” Fingerhut said.
