When we think wearable tech, images of bulky Fitbits and Apple Watches slapped onto the wrists of hoodie-clad brogrammers come to mind.
is shaking up that image.Today, the company released a new line called Aries, which offers a collection of elegant and sleek bracelets that sync up to your smartphone via Bluetooth. The bracelets work, discreetly, to alert viewers of calls, messages and social media notifications from their phone using a customizable vibration pattern. The jewelry also hooks up to Ringly’s corresponding app, through which you can link the bracelet to over 100 different apps, including Snapchat, Uber, Bumble, Facebook and Slack.
But perhaps the most enticing feature of the new accessory is the bracelet’s step tracker. The collection is crafted with hand-cut semi-precious gemstones and gold plating, so you can now track your steps and monitor your calorie output like the sophisticated, tech-savvy lady you are.
The Aries line trails the success of the company’s signature wearable rings, which embody great design supported by technology, and not vice versa. While Ringly’s products undoubtedly optimize productivity, their aesthetic is simple and delicate.
Moreover, Ringly has a healthy backing ($6.1 million to date) from notable investors including Andreesen Horowitz, BBG Ventures, Brooklyn Bridge Ventures and First Round Capital to name a few. The company was founded in 2013 by Christina Mercando d’Avignon, who we recently recognized as a prominent leader in NYC tech.
You can now pre-order the Aries bracelet for $195.
