New York autumn is in full swing. The leaves’ vibrant hues have faded, there’s a chill in the air and holiday mode is gaining traction to carry us through the remainder of the year — surely a time for relaxation and winding down.
Well, for New York’s booming tech scene, this is hardly the case. With Q4 well underway, teams are grinding away to smash any remaining annual goals and prepare for the rapidly approaching new year ahead.
That’s why Built In NYC dug a little deeper into four companies standing out this month to showcase who they are, what’s got people taking notice and all the ways they’re keeping internal teams supported despite the bustling schedules.
Take a look at digital branding company Rightpoint, for instance. Instead of holding off to grow in the new year, the company is currently looking to fill more than 50 open roles to tackle client work and new business head on.
Meanwhile, employees at companies like OpenWeb and Resy can’t stop buzzing about the co-workers and company cultures that help them contribute to making a real difference in the world every day.
Ready for a new opportunity? All four organizations just so happen to be hiring.
What they do: OpenWeb is a social engagement platform that builds online communities around digital content, empowering publishers and advertisers to obtain quality online conversions.
A mission with a cause: “Our mission is to inspire and elevate conversations while democratizing where they occur,” Director and HR Business Partner Javier Ramos previously told Built In. “We believe the health of society depends on our ability to have quality conversations, and that publishers are hosts of our cultural curiosity. We want to empower people to talk as they wish and for publishers to foster and facilitate healthy dialogue, creating greater sustainability for themselves and society.”
Perks worth noticing: On top of full health benefits, promoting from within, unlimited PTO and performance bonuses, OpenWeb also offers a mean gender pay gap below 10 percent in order to support all employees across the board.
What they do: Rightpoint is a consultancy that aims to deliver digital branding and marketing services to clients, using insights from data to inform customers’ adoption of data-driven decision making.
Employee buzz: “As I was going through the interview process, something about Rightpoint made me feel confident in accepting my position,” Group Director of Analytics and Insights Kathleen Lukasik previously told Built In. “Being involved in a growing practice of strategists, technologists and designers who were curious enough to pave a new way forward and think cohesively struck a chord with me. To this day, our collaborative nature and processes keep me energized to do great work for our clients.”
Readily available roles: Rightpoint is currently looking for an SEO digital strategist, an analytics and insight lead, a chief marketing officer, a visual designer and 51 other open positions to kick off a job seeker’s 2022 with a bang.
What they do: Talkspace’s platform offers people 24/7 online access to certified therapists specializing in areas such as depression, anxiety and trauma. Launched in 2012, the digital platform offers a wide range of online therapy services, through which users can engage with licensed professionals via text, video and audio.
Empowering the future: “We’ll continue to focus on building the necessary tools that enable our clients to share what they are going through, tying their journey to other aspects of their lives,” Vice President of Product Amir Eitan previously told Built In when asked how the company hopes to empower users through its service. “We want to help them by providing a more holistic picture of their mental health.”
Tech tools: What do technologists at the team use? Engineering tools are various, from frameworks like Express, Node.js and Zend, to languages like JavaScript, Python and PHP, among others.
What they do: Resy is a reservations platform, built and powered by restaurant lovers. The company strives to power the world’s restaurants, using technology to imagine the future of hospitality.
Insider insight: “Resources and mentorship opportunities have evolved as we’ve grown as a company,” Senior Manager of Implementation Tracey Thaler previously told Built In. “The most impactful resource for my development has been BetterUp coaching. The program matched me with a certified business coach so I could hone my skills as a leader and navigate the complexities of the workplace. I continued with my coach independently after the Resy-sponsored program ended because it’s been such a valuable resource.”
Notable benefits: Did you become a parent over the pandemic? Resy offers up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave, as well as generous PTO. The company also offers stock options, a mentorship program, fitness and commuter benefits, and a wellness stipend to help always show up as your best self.
