Senior Director, Global Talent • Multiverse

Edtech company Multiverse hosts a platform for professional apprenticeship opportunities.

What first drew you to Multiverse? How have your expectations been met since coming aboard?

I joined Multiverse because I’ve never been more confident about a company becoming a category leader and defining a space. We’re building an outstanding alternative to college and corporate training through the power of professional apprenticeships.

Unlike past companies, where I felt company success was defined by tentpole financial moments, Multiverse is not only working toward the financial success of the company, but also the social impact we have on our apprentices, their families and communities. Multiverse allows me to invest my gifts, talent and time into high-scale impact.

The work that we do is hard. We are solving some pretty complex systemic challenges. However, I get to do it with some of the smartest and most down-to-earth people I’ve ever worked with. It’s nice to work at a place where everyone around you is motivated by outcomes and they don’t just show up to do a job.

The people, culture and challenging work have exceeded my expectations. I truly feel like a valued member of a team, and that I’m making a difference.

What has been your biggest success story since joining the team?

We hit a milestone of 10,000 apprentices in our community! Also, I originally joined as head of talent for the United States but, as of January 2023, my role expanded to global. This means we’re able to deploy larger and broader programs with global impact, which is really exciting.

I’ve also worked with the U.K. team and had the opportunity to learn a lot from British culture, which has historically been more apprenticeship-forward than the United States. This has caused me to question how we can apply that learning to fill some of the U.S. labor market challenges and skills gaps.

All of this to say, I am fascinated by the ability to build things and teams at scale, without compromising on quality and outcomes.

Embodying our values and demonstrating them consistently are effective ways to make an immediate impact on the company.”

Multiverse is currently hiring. How can new hires make an immediate impact?

There is so much work to get done when you are building a new path, but at Multiverse, we believe that simplicity scales.

First, quickly learn and adopt your team’s objectives and key results to prioritize your day and take action. Objectives and key results make it really simple for us to stay focused as an 800-plus member global team driving toward shared goals.

Second, embodying our values and demonstrating them consistently are effective ways to make an immediate impact on the company. Our six values are: “we believe in equality of opportunity,” “we treat others as we want to be treated,” “we adopt an owner mentality,” “development is at our core,” “we make decisions based on facts and logic” and “we don’t take ourselves too seriously.”

Changing the world is hard, so if you are looking for just another job, this is not it; if you are seeking challenging and rewarding work with a great team, check out our open roles!

Director of Talent Acquisition • Atmosphere

Atmosphere is a television streaming platform for businesses, offering more than 60 audio-optional channels.

What first drew you to Atmosphere? How have your expectations been met since coming aboard?

Atmosphere is everywhere! Their content always had me hooked, so when I got the chance to lead their talent acquisition team, I jumped on it. I really believed in their product and knew it was something special — and I’ve been blown away since then.

Along the way, I’ve picked up some corporate recruiting and HR skills, and I’ve learned a lot about the media and entertainment industry. The opportunity to work for Atmosphere has far exceeded my expectations, and we’re just getting started.

What has been your biggest success story since joining the team?

In 2022, we hired more than 450 people in 10 months. That kind of growth is hard to imagine, but our team delivered consistently and played a critical role in the milestones that we’ve been able to reach. I couldn’t be more proud of our talent team, and I take great pride in helping them with their personal and professional development.

Senior Talent Acquisition Partner • MANTL

MANTL is a SaaS company that helps community and regional banks modernize and grow.

What first drew you to MANTL? How have your expectations been met since coming aboard?

I was immediately drawn to MANTL for its potential for growth and disruption in the financial services industry. Joining the team after its Series A funding round, I was excited by the opportunity to help shape the company’s talent strategy and attract high-performing individuals who believe in our mission.

Over the past two years, my experience at MANTL has been nothing short of exceptional. I contributed to the growth and development of our internal team, and I have had a meaningful role in advancing the company’s mission to empower smaller banks with digital account opening solutions. I am passionate about the work that we do at MANTL and take pride in collaborating with exceptional colleagues.

What has been your biggest success story since joining the team?

I helped grow our sales team by five times, which has been critical in meeting demand for our product and services. It’s a rewarding experience watching that team grow and be successful.

Chief Technology Officer • Gynger

Gynger provides flexible financing for businesses’ software and infrastructure needs.

What first drew you to Gynger? How have your expectations been met since coming aboard?

What I love about Gynger is that it’s a powerful idea that addresses a real universal need. Having been both a buyer and vendor of software, I know how big the need is for a financing solution that uses non-dilutive capital and is powered by great user experience and deep data science. Especially in today’s economy, in which preserving cash is critical, Gynger is a perfect solution.

CEO Mark Ghermezian is a great visionary with a proven track record in building strong founding teams and culture. In the six months that I have been Gynger’s chief technology officer, I have already experienced our “no BS” culture, which is focused on getting things done while truly listening to the market. These values are key to building a winning team at an early-stage company.

Finally, Gynger has a unique go-to-market model that drew me in. The way we can bring buyers and vendors together allows us to create a flywheel, go-to-market approach, in which we sell our solutions directly to buyers to help them finance their entire tech stack. At the same time, we partner with vendors to help them close more business and secure renewals by enabling them to offer their clients flexible payment terms. This model creates exponential growth.

What has been your biggest success story since joining the team?

In the recent wake of the Silicon Valley Bank collapse, there was huge uncertainty in the market. It became clear that tech companies needed access to alternative sources of credit — and quickly. In a matter of days, our team managed to come up with unique offerings to help tech startups bridge the gap and secure cash.

This was a herculean effort than spanned tech, go-to-market, credit and external stakeholders to make sure all the pieces were in place. The results were quick; we ended up tripling our pipeline and revenue in the few weeks that followed. Many of the clients that came to us with a need for emergency funding are now looking to extend their relationship with us.

It was — and still is — a very intense time, but it shows the tremendous ability of our team to work together, stay focused and react in an agile way to the developments of a dynamic market. This whole situation helped us build trust and a highly supportive client base. This is something that I’m very proud of.

Every member wears many hats and carries plenty of responsibilities for every aspect of the business. You will become a multi-disciplinary expert.”

Gynger is currently hiring. How can new hires make an immediate impact?

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join an early-stage, visionary and well-funded company that’s building a platform to change the way businesses operate.

Since we are a relatively small team, every member wears many hats and carries plenty of responsibilities for every aspect of the business. You will become a multi-disciplinary expert, not only in the fintech space, but in the larger business-to-business SaaS space and financial services sector. Additionally, new hires will develop leadership skills and grow as Gynger grows.

VP, Marketing • Veritonic

Veritonic’s platform researches, tests and measures return on investment for audio assets and campaigns.

What first drew you to Veritonic? How have your expectations been met since coming aboard?

A number of things drew me to the company. For one, the value behind the platform. It’s really important to me to work for a company where I believe in the end result and the value it provides; this platform is absolutely revolutionary for marketers.

The team was also a huge draw. During the interview process, I met wonderful, interesting, intelligent and passionate people across all teams who were genuinely excited to be here and working together. I knew that I wanted to be a part of what they were building, as I could tell that they really cared about the organization and our clients, and they had a lot of fun in the process.

Additionally, it is important to me that I work for a company with a value system that aligns with both my work ethic and personal values. Veritonic’s commitment to being resourceful and proactive, while maintaining honest and open communication, really spoke to me. The daily actions of my team members reinforce the values at Veritonic as the kind of culture and environment that I love to be a part of.

What has been your biggest success story since joining the team?

Building up the marketing function within the organization as well as our marketing team. Since joining the team, I’ve onboarded tools and implemented processes to enhance communication and alignment internally, as it relates to our in-market activity and the results of those efforts.

Additionally, I am continuing to build out a team of expert marketers that, both as individual contributors and when combined, will increase our bandwidth and allow us to take to market even more great data, content and partnership opportunities. This will continue to enhance our company, team, product and the value we provide to marketers around the world.
