New York-based Luzern Risk, formerly known as XN Captive, announced a $12 million round of funding from Caffeinated Capital. The Series A coincides with the launch of Luzern Risk’s captive insurance platform.

The company seeks to make captive ownership more accessible, focusing on the middle market in particular. Its solution aims to streamline decision-making and provides digital tools for accounting, advisory, claims, management, regulatory compliance and more. Luzern Risk’s software helps consolidate all aspects of the captive lifecycle for captive owners into a digital system designed for long-term growth.

As more businesses work to reduce volatility and optimize their cash flows, Luzern Risk hopes to help them evaluate, form and manage captives to gain control of their insurance.
