CoInvent Pulse NY 2015, November 9 at 9:00 a.m.
All day Monday there will be business workshops running to help entrepreneurs find their way in the NYC tech ecosystem. They'll feature advice that ranges from bootstrapping, all the way to how to get acquired. There will also be 150 exhibitors showing off their wares and thousands of attendees looking for jobs.
Women Startup Challenge NYC, November 9 at 6:00 p.m.
Organized in partnership with Craig Newmark of Craigslist, Women Who Tech will gather at Microsoft for a startup pitching competition. Ten finalists from the Women Startup Challenge NYC will pitch innovative and disruptive ventures that are solving problems for people, businesses, and the planet to an all female panel of experts. The winner walks away with $25,000 cash, and the runners up will get consulting services and 3 months of free office space.
Innovation in Financial Technology: The Startups, November 10 at 6:30 p.m.
This is the second in a series of FinTech events hosted by the Harvard Business Club of New York. Three founders of New York FinTech startups will tell their stories, as well as explain how they’re different from large competitors. You'll also hear what they believe is in store for FinTech in the coming years. The presenters will be: CommonBond, a startup refinancing student loans; Orchard, builder of technology for marketplace lending; and Bond Street, which delivers solutions for small business lending. The event will be moderated by Maneet Ahuja, CNBC's hedge fund specialist and a producer on Squawk Box.
November 2015 NY Enterprise Technology Meetup, November 11 at 6:30 p.m.
NY Enterprise Technology's November event will, as usual, feature technologists, entrepreneurs, and investors gathering to see startups demo their products. Presenters this month will include: The debugging platform Backtrace, the Agile QA platform Rainforest, the visual security platform Graphistry, and Hirepurpose, which helps veterans find employment.
Startup Institute New York: Open Doors Party, November 12 at 6:30 p.m.
There’s no great agenda at this event, and the idea is only to meet up, network and have some fun with other members of the tech community. The seasonal Open Doors event is an opportunity for us to come together to celebrate the growing startup community. In attendance will be the Startup Institute program director, alumni, current students, hiring partners, and members of the tech community. It’s a free event with drink specials and complimentary appetizers.
