3 TIPS TO HITTING THE GROUND RUNNING WITH FACEBOOK LIVE

Facebook Live is a phenomenal tool that can build your name, your authority, and ultimately grow your business.

It gives you the ability to connect with your audience in real-time on the biggest online stage in the world- Facebook.

But getting in front of the camera can be daunting... I like, wanted to vomit the first time I did it.

I want you to drive more exposure and convert more leads with Facebook Live and turn it into a marketing asset for your business.  Here's how to get started:

1) Practice without a Live Audience

Create a rough outline for your Facebook Live stream. That way you can organize your talking points and ensure you mention all of the key items you want to cover. Then, from there practice your Live session. Do everything you would do, and you're still going to click the "Go Live" button, but it will be shared with only one friend, who is expecting it.

From my experience, it may take 4-5 times to make it through your Live rehearsal without stumbling, losing your thoughts, or forgetting key talking points. Just keep practicing so you can get the flavor or it.  It always helps if you bring in a guest to talk to, it's more challenging doing it alone without a tight outline, or a very, very engaged audience.

2) Keep Creating

It's best to have no expectations for my Facebook Live sessions. If you expect 400 people to show up, and you only have a handful you will be very disappointed and you will likely give up on the platform and its possibilities.

Have no or little expectations for your audience while you're getting started. Learn about them, and what they want, and why they're listening to you.  Then set goals, keep creating and tweaking things along the way as you learn and later align that with your goals.

Play the long game with Facebook Live and focus on adding value. People will see your work and become magnetized to it.

3) Promote Early & Often

Of course, if you promote early and often, you can help ensure you will have an audience for your session. Be sure to promote your Facebook Live session in all of your digital communications. As you continue with additional sessions, you can build upon your success in growing your audience.

By using these 3 foundational principles, you can overcome early struggles and jump right in to making Facebook Live a cornerstone of your marketing.  It's more important to get started today, instead of just continue planning when you'e going to do it.
