Three years after the pandemic began, companies are still striking a balance between the flexibility of remote work and the collaboration of in-person work. While the jury is out on what the future of work will look like, it is clear that tech companies still have an interest in establishing a physical headquarters in New York City. Keep reading to see which companies have opened a NYC HQ in 2023. This list will continue to be updated throughout the year.

Cybersecurity firm Human plans to relocate this summer from 111 W. 33rd St. to 841 Broadway in Union Square, according to the Commercial Observer. Human signed a seven-year lease on the 13,809-square-foot space, which spans the entire second floor of the building. The company raised $100 million last year to scale its efforts to crack down on bots and fraudulent online activity.

After more than a year as a remote company, crypto investment startup Hivemind announced in February that it opened a headquarters office in the Flatiron District. The company offers a hybrid work environment but its new HQ will allow for employee collaboration and allow space to meet with clients, investors, portfolio companies and founders.

VettaFi is a financial markets research firm that formed in May 2022 after the merger of several index fund platforms. The company provides financial advisors, asset managers and institutional investors with data and research about index funds and exchange-traded funds. VettaFi announced in January that it opened a Midtown Manhattan office amongst its peers and clients in the financial sector. The office features a studio with cameras and audio equipment that VettaFi says its team will use to create educational thought leadership content.
