As data analysis becomes a larger part of most business operations, data teams often find themselves bogged down by time-intensive requests.

Redbird has developed technology that allows nontechnical employees to access data by themselves. The platform connects all of an organization’s data sources into a no-code environment where employees can find, unify, analyze and report data without having to write any code.

The NYC startup announced Thursday that it raised $7.6 million, allowing it to add more advanced no-code capabilities to its software.

The oversubscribed seed round was led by B Capital and included participation from Y Combinator, Thomson Reuters Ventures, Alumni Ventures and Soma Capital.

“Every modern enterprise has a need for deeper automation and orchestration across the data lifecycle,” Redbird co-founder and CEO Erin Tavgac said in a statement. “We are moving quickly to empower organizations to develop the custom applications that solve the specific needs of their different stakeholders.”

Formerly known as Cube Analytics, the company rebranded to Redbird last month. The company said it has grown its revenue ninefold in the past year.

Tavgac told Built In that the company plans to triple its 15-person team in the next year, and that it will be hiring for engineering, DevOps, product and sales roles. He said they plan to hire both new graduates and experienced professionals from schools in the greater NYC area.
